Super Jamie Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 today, gt4 was released in australia. hailed to be the most realstic driving simulation ever, i've had $100 sitting on the shelf for months waiting for it. today i scooped it at the bargain price of $84 from harvey norman. my working day went slower than an auto silvia, as i couldn't stop thinking of getting home to play it and i'm not disappointed. the graphics are awesome, it's so realistic sometimes you have to look to make sure the cars aren't real. the physics are a HUGE leap from gt3, so realistic i would say it's almost the same as driving the real car, and it's so much easier to lose control. the game itself is excellent, you can customise just about everything you've ever wanted to. modifications now include superchargers, rollcages, and nitrous oxide there's a crapload of new tracks, as well as old favorites (autumring mini, pikes peak). over 700 cars with alot of classics like mazda 110s cosmo and ta22 celica. there's also a photo mode where you can put your car in many picturesque locations and control a fairly accurate representation of a real camera (focal lengths, apertures, etc) and save photos of your car to memory card or usb thumb drive i've started with my usual car, red mx5. and moved onto my biggest unobtainable dream car, fd rx7 in sunburst yellow, with white volk te37 wheels, of course. if you have a ps2, you should buy this game. here's some pics to whet your appetite, directly from the playstation Quote

David[RL] Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 (edited) yeah, it's much better than number 3, we in norway got it the 9th, but I got it the 8th :D played it instant since I got it almost it's impossible to do a nice drift without steering wheel.. just loses the control with the steering pad.. I started with 2 licenses finished because of the prologue and 100k cash from gt3, bought a ae86 and using that until I have cash for a supra or a nsx Edited March 10, 2005 by David Quote

Super Jamie Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 xbox and pc are ghey, you don't get gt4  yeah i have the prologue and gt3 save trick as well, i have a phat 99 wrx as well now, and still 50 grand in the bank. i haven't done any huge drifts yet, but it's fairly hard NOT to get a little bit broad in the mx5 or fd with some basic mods, i can do some awesome 4 wheelers around trial mountain in my mx5, that's like one of my 2 favorite tracks, the other being midfield i can't believe the amount of cool cars in this thing. cv8 monaro and ss commodore, fpv typhoon and gt. the back to the future de-lorean. a caterham lotus seven (something i've ALWAYS wanted in gt). the ali g renault 5 turbo. heaps of phat american muscle cars. lots of old favorites from gt2, i just keep going thru the car menus going OH YEAH i love how you can buy tuning brand products as well (even tho it all does the same thing) i have a re ameniya exhaust, hks intercooler and blitz ecu in my rx7 :D this game RULES Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 (edited) Does it have Toyota Corolla II GP Turbo ???? argubly the best rolla ever made (well in my personal opinion lol) Also, you can get it for Xbox if you have an xbox that is chipped to play PS2 games :D ... but that is norty very very norty and Mr Bill Gates doesn't like it... I hear there is a place in Mt Gravatt that does it   Edited March 10, 2005 by TOMsGPTurbo Quote
Nitephyre Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 whats this save trick you speek of.. hmm, i think i might have to go buy it... wonder if they'd give me some money for GT3 off it heh ;D Quote
Jason Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 i need a ps2... WAIT my sister has one YES! Quote
Nitephyre Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 well i bought GT4 and logitech force pro wheel together for $200 today which was a sweet deal.. my first car is a Celica GT4 and f@$k it rules.. i wish i'd had a wheel for GT3 before, so i'll probaby keep going on gt3 as well with the wheel the graphics are sweet as, and the interface is alot tider/easier /me looks forward to many fun hours GTing Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 12, 2005 Author Report Posted March 12, 2005 how many friggin cars are in this thing hey? i reckon i would have spent 3 hours just going thru the menus looking at everything  track unlock days and car prize lists are up at gtplanet.net and gamefaqs.com make sure you train your b-spec driver up too, put him in different cars and on different tracks, evenly match the cars so his battle skill improves too. you'll need him when it comes time to do the 24hr endurance races some of the used cars are so cool. there's heaps of old skylines including kpgc10s, there's two different datsun 510s you can get, one of those boxy 80s rwd celicas. as well has heaps of old american muscle cars, and uk/euro things, like trumpy spirfire and original beetle. the only two cars i would have liked to have seen are an old mini like in gt3, and the daishin silvia from gt2 Quote
