i remember a site somewhere, buggered if i can find it  about all the spots that rust on a ke70, like the fuel cap, the guards, and the boot lip, etc.

anyways, i'm about to get myself a new boot lip rubber seal, but i want to fix up the rust patches first, and i dunno how...

can i bash the rust out (its held there by paint) and patch the hole with a stratco fibreglass kit? and sand it, paint it, etc?

or do i need to do it more professionally, and get some steel in there, and weld it or whatever? the hole will be about the size of a 50 cent piece.. well, both of them...

will post pics later tonight so you guys know what i mean.

i really wanna fix this one myself, and don't want it to rust any further :D

any help would be great.

Aww... It isn't THAT bad... The bog job on Pinky (yes, the entire rear guards of the car were made of bog) lasted a good 18 months before any rust started to show through. And even then it was only in tiny bits and pieces, easily ground back and replaced with more bog

It does really depend on how long you intend to keep the car for, and how well you want it fixed, and how much time/money you have. If you want it fixed properly and want it to last, a weld in job is definately on the cards. If the car is a freebie and you really couldn't care less if it broke next week, then dodgy it up.

same steps as the welding thing?

as i said, the hole is going to be about the size of a 50 cent piece on the boot lip

lol... someone owned my car and had a pink fetish, so the rocker cover

fuel press regulator, bits of wire, jack, wheel spanner and more stuff

was painted in pink... all getting removed at da moment :P

Hehe... Fair enough. Pinky was actually red, with a pink pearl. Looked pretty cool actually. But no, nothing apart from the actual body had any resemblance to pink.
