beatdownte27mango Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 When I bought my te27, it came with a 3t-c, and it seems pretty gutless. Granted it needs a good once over to run at the glory it once did, would it even be worth the money to hop this motor up or should I look elsewhere for power? Quote
demuire Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 3T-C? Really? I thought they all came with 2TG's... Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 9, 2005 Author Report Posted March 9, 2005 The motor was swapped two owners ago... My car has been passed around like a korean ho. The swap is not very good, as I need to rewire the whole thing (two fires that I know of) but I am sure it is a 3t-c. Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 you can do heaps of work to them, guys in puerto rico are running 7s with 3t-cs with turbo and nos. anything has potential, but it may be cheaper and or easier for you to just convert to a modern motor like 4agze or 3sgte. do some searching Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 a real enthusiast would restore the original 2t-g to factory specs, black wrinkel paint on the rocker covers and everything Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 That would be cool Super Jaime, but this car was purchased for $400 american and all I want to do to it is make it into a sleeper. I'll post some pictures of the car in a few days or so, so you guys can laugh at it... Theres rust everywhere, even a cancer hole through the roof! I intend on it looking like crap, but being fast on a budget. Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 Almost forgot... TE-27's are super rare in the states, as I have only seen one other in my life. Most toyota people here on the states drive older celicas, TE-72's, Hachi's, and for the old car crowd, TE-37's and KE series cars. There are a few other people on the other site I post on with TE-27's but most people don't have them. I must say that I am kind of jealous of you guys over there. You have a beautiful country, hotttt women, a government that doesn't want to take over the world, and rare ass cars guys here in the states would kill for. I would love to see Cossies, Skylines and older EVO's over here!!!! Quote
Xany Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 (edited) you may take the skylines, they are getting like the friggen VB commodore......too f@$king many of them. Â i see at least 10 daily in the outer suburbs of brisbane......mainly 32's and 33's......seen a couple of 34's......but only on the weekends. Edited March 11, 2005 by Xany Quote
Jason Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 (edited) i would love an old GT-R mmmm dutsun powa!' Â sorry  Edited March 11, 2005 by Jason Quote
irokin Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 muhahhaha the infections spreading...... Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 hey don't be so jealous, we just have ke25s over here, at least america got SOME te27s, we got none and you have to import one from new zealand or japan. there would be under 10 te27s in this country i reckon  my ke25 here: http://www.superjamie.net/ke25/ Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 Nice car Super Jaime... I gotta give props to datsun too, My brother had a 1969 Datsun 510 with a moderately built L20B, at the time I drove a 1993 Eagle Talon tsi AWD with intake, exhaust and a ported head; he would smoke me on rolling starts, untill his car got stolen. Thats Los Angeles for you I guess. Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 What bumms me out though, is that I looked and looked for an AE86 for like 3 months, and the ones that were for sale were up for like $5000-$6000. On top of that, I would have to drive halfway up the friggin coast to get it! It seems over here you have to buy american or be really patient to get a cool RWD car, or buy a beat up 240sx and do the SR20DET swap... Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 =) WOW, that is a really nice car!! Clean 240sx-Sil80 conversions are really rare over here. I am sure his is the real deal though, because you bastards get all the cool cars and we were stuck with the KA24 powered turd which mostly only came with auto ;) Quote
CUCUY Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 new to this site from toyota3tc.com and the 2tc/3tc is an awsome motor with alot of potential. i know many people go the way of 3TGTE or even a 3S converted to RWD or from an altezza, but it's hard to beat a preatically bullet proof motor such as the 3TC.....just my .02. =) Quote
