SLW42 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 ^^hahaThat reminds me of what happened to me once. My dad was teaching me how to weld and all I was wearing was bordies and a singlet top, well anyway, one of the sparks from the weld I was doing decided to land on my lap, burnt through my shorts, burnt through my underwear and burnt the tip of my knob. I dropped what I was doing and started jumping around frantically in pain, holding my crutch. Long story short, I don't wear boardies while welding now. :) ow ow ow ow hot hot hot burny hot hot lol i have been grinding something before and been croushing down with boardies on and all the hot shit was going straight up the inside of my leg and burning you can only imagin what :y: Quote
JiP Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 This is from the disabled unit at work. I find it odd that the internal doorways are 900mm wide while the front door is 800mm and the balcony sliding door is 800mm too. I just don't see how the chair will fit through. Then there is this window. Will they get a stick to open it?? Quote

Is that 800mm between the frame structure or 800 after the door surrounds are in, The doorways here at home are 800mm and Shawn can get his chair through but the disability house he is in has larger doorways and sliding doors all through the house (apart from the front door). JiP Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 900mm for the internal steel frame without jams and 800mm for the external finished frame. Oh and there is a step down onto the balcony. Quote

JiP Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 (edited) We worked at this job site this week by the horse race tracks (Doomben). This builder is such a rude prick, you say hello and he glares at you. He bought a whipper snipper to work and only did the grass inside the fence. I was so over walking through this. I assume he is waiting for the council to do it... Same building, these are the battens attached to the trusses that hold the fire rated ceiling sheets. Not sure if you can see it but the trusses aren't level... They didn't use a laser to level them out  Edited March 6, 2009 by JiP Quote
Jason KE30 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Construction workers with lasers... Next thing you know people who work in office buildings will have light sabers and you guys will battle each other. That'd be AWESOME Quote
JiP Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 Right... Go drink some food fool.. Quote

JiP Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 THE AIRCON DUDE STRIKES AGAIN!!! We are on floor number 4. Every floor we tell him he needs to give us more space. This time we just built our shit and told the site manager to call him and tell him to fix it. This is how his pipes should look. On the same wall as the mechanical vents... He mounted it on the opposite wall. This would mean we would have to build a bulkhead on 3 out of 4 walls in the room. After we complained he ripped it down and moved it to the other wall. Pitty he didn't clean his clips off the wall. No someone else has to clean up after him AGAIN. This was at todays job. We are building a show room under a house. Apparently it'll only be here a few months. These were done by the owner of the house I assume... This shows how crooked the column is. Its about 5cms out from top to bottom... And this shows the I beam above. Its warped... So thats a warped I beam sitting on a crooked post. There was more but I didn't take pics. Quote
JiP Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Posted March 16, 2009 Aircon dude strikes AGAIN!! Floor Number 5. The red is the bulkhead we had to build. If the a/c line was put above the trusses, we wouldn't have had to make the higher section of bulkhead. So we had had to build both because he is a dim whit. I told the boss if we see him again we'll give him a wedgie or flush him. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 i vote hang him off his undies upon a bulkhead and let him dangle till they rip :P Quote
JiP Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 Part of yesterdays repairs. There was a f@$k up and the wall had to be extended. Tiles had to be removed and with it came off most of the board. But no, we are not replacing the board. What was left was really thin and the tiles wouldn't hold well. Plus as soon as someone leans on the wall the grout will crack. Nice tiles tho... Quote
