Jason Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 (edited) My i dear every since i have decide to run a SC14 (if i can find one  ) is to run a reversed FWD manifold. I have a TVIS big-port i got with the sprinter spare parts. How much restriction would the 'flutes' be. Its just the manifold, no butterfly's. Would the spacer cause any turbulence. Would it restrict air flow that much. Would there be any point in changing over them from the crappy RWD manifold? Because it seems that the Big port FWD non-TVIS are very rare :D ie only one bigport GZEs Edited March 9, 2005 by Jason Quote
Jason Posted March 9, 2005 Author Report Posted March 9, 2005 (edited) no no, that not what i mean  Its just the manifold, that all, no butterfly's or any thing. But Ive herd that the divider (going through the hole thing) is restricted/turblie. Fact or fiction? Edited March 9, 2005 by Jason Quote

Mr Revhead[RL] Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 afaik its in perfect working order. what model gze? Quote
Jason Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 I'm going to update all the old stuff like afm and iggy/distributer removal, so ill probably grab a Ae101. Do you have the computer? Ill probably run the supercharger off it and get an aftermarket later down the track. does it matter running a 101 on a big port? Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 the looms can be different, plugs etc. so need to make sure you get all the bits from the same model. head wont affect ecu, but small port is much better Quote
Jason Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 (edited) Hmm OK, well i need to get new injectors because the ones i have look very blocked. Would pics help? Should i get bigger injectors? I was just thinking of just getting the same ones Yerr Ive herd that small port is better but can't figure out why? The only conclusion i cam come to is that the small intake creates a faster moving air? But if its charged, wont it have a + attitude so it flows quickly into the cylinder any way since the cylinder is - or neutral? I can get how this works on a N/A but not forced. Mr Revhead[RL] Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 its simple, bigger ports are good, too big ports is bad. and thats what the 4age bigports are, too big. may suit a drag engine runnign 30psi but not a circuit/road car! Quote
Jason Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 (edited) wait, so is that just it, the bigger volume drops intake velocity? is that all the problem is? sorry but i really need to know what actually happens so i can fix it... :P Edited March 13, 2005 by Jason Quote
irokin Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 yea it drops the intake velocity and believe it or not more turbulence is better (which is why some big diesel heads have a swirling mechanisim in the port) Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 yup thats it not turbulance, swirl, theres a difference :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 4 horsepower at the wheels, probably over 5 at the flywheel *nod* Quote
