Hey

Nearly got my licience and ive got a sweet ke70. Originally i was going to build a 4k for it but my bro has 1 in his ke30 and it seems abit gutless. So i just wanted to no what motor i should put init and how much they would cost.

Drive it for the first year with a 4K. Then upgrade.

 

 

Ditto - then drop in a 5k or a 7k, heaps easier and cheaper. $100 to $500 for a 5k depending on the deal you get.

i race junior sedans at the moment so i no alot about 3ks and 4ks. My brother was telling me that i should just build a 3k because they seem to rev harder. What do you guys think would be better? 3k or 4k?

i no what to do to make it go hard but i just need to no whether to build a 3k of 4k.

 

I would bore the block to 40 or 60 thou.

Get a cam from waggot.

do the head.

and just clean it up

Seems you know what you are doing. I prefer the 4a but any k motor can be tuned to reasonable specs. Got any P plate restrictions where you are?

personally i rekon 4age bit later on once you have ur licence for a lil while the money ur gonna spend on a 1.2 or a 1.3 they might rev but they don't go real hard... i rekon if ya gonna do it properly do it the first time... but thats what i rekon good luck with ur decision. johnnyt

I'm in perth but as far as i no there isnt any.

 

 

Yeah, no restrictions on P platers here outside of what's plain illegal from an engineering point of view.

here's something to try... get a 3K and 4K... swap the heads over.

 

Run the 4K with newly found higher compression ratio (and obligatory cam) on Premium and see how you like it.

 

Or if you have the skills, take your 3K with 4K head (lower compression) and turbo/supercharge it. run 7-10psi and enjoy.

amen, or better yet, build another car while u drive this one for a while, the experience of pushing a slow car to its limit and beyond is one that should not be looked upon as pointless, teaches you alot about driving a car hard while staying a bit safer, as when shit goes bad, theres less go fasts happening so you have more time to react.

then you push harder and harder, then you get more power, and start at the beginning again :yes:
