Jamin Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 hello fellas, i have a choice , i can make my dream ke70 (deep dish rims, 4age.... mmmmmm) but my current money status wont allow that so i could put a 4age and keep the body standard . do u think i shoulld wait the extra 6 months and paint the baby and then put the 4age in and do it proper? just can't make the desion myself thanks jamin Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Do the motor first and then 'get around' to the body. If it looks like shit on the outside, then you get a better wow factor when you blow the doors off something!! hehe .......not that a 4age can blow doors off anyway! Quote
dfunkt Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 .......not that a 4age can blow doors off anyway! haha, you need a turbo K to do that  as taz said, motor shuold come first, unless you want to enter autosalon. get the car driving like you want it to, engine, suspension, brakes...then go and blow $$ on making it look good. corolla_nut Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Get a sticker made: "Made to go not to show" I was gonna get that made for my little blue beast... The back end is horrible, it's got basically no right hand rear guard left and has rust perforation holes. It won't pass rego next year and that's with my boyfriend doing it... Yeah, definitely the engine first, it won't take that long to pull it out again, and by the time you get around to doing the exterior stuff you'll have the enigne going how you want it! Quote
h1_roll4 Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 engine first 4 sure. you can always work on the body slowly as you save, and if you put the engine in yourself the you can just take it out and back in again. I'm assuming you want to paint the bay to. Quote
adam-__- Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 If your only options are to either 4AGE it or paint it, definitely 4AGE conversion. I personally went down the suspension and brakes path first cause it seemed more affordable (and I hated the handling of the standard suspension). Once the basics were out of the way, I went and bought new wheels, then I did the engine conversion. I would do paint last. Quote
ke70dave Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 depends on the current state of the car too if its all the same colour, forget about the paint, and get suspension and brakes happening. then some 4age goodness...(note the order of components there) i bought a ke about 2yrs ago, with the intention of having it 4age'd within 6months...so far i have spent way to much cash on the suspension and brakes (its pretty good though), have replaced just about everything on the entire car, it came with all different colours, so its had a lick of paint and some nice mods to the outside (fudged up quad lights, and some shiny bars) and its still not 4age..... but its all good fun working on it though  Quote
dashills Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 DO THE MOTOR FIRST DON'T THINK ABOUT IT JUST DO IT . CAUSE NO GOOSE IN A HOTTED UP TUNER OR V8 LIKES TO BEAT BY A COROLLA , EVEN A SHITTY LOOKING ONE ,IT 'S LIKE SALT TO THE WOUND Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Motor for sure! It all great and nice to have perfect paint, but it really is more trouble than its worth. Eg. I'm paranoid about where i park, afraid of some dick opening their door on me, or an escaped trolley hitting it. What about forestry, this is where i think alot of people learn to drive their car to its best, i can't do this anymore due to worry about my paint  Also, the cops, if you have a nice shiny car, they will harass you. My brother drives an old 626 with rust oozing out of it and a broken taillight, the cops have followed him many many times, he has never been pulled up though. Go the 4age :hmm: Quote
Gspec Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 I'm paranoid about where i park, afraid of some dick opening their door on me, or an escaped trolley hitting it. Park where there's no traffic  Also, the cops, if you have a nice shiny car, they will harass you. For sure, eye catching cars catch peoples eyes.. hence the title  Be mindfull, if its a harry high pants stoke looking rolla with crisp paint and no P's, cops will leave it alone no matter how nice the paint :hmm: Quote
