zilli Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Hey fellas, My fuel pump gave in on Saturday... so after much running around on the side of the road in the heat on Paramatta road, i got the new part, but it didnt have a return? Obviously there is no issue with this, but why would they discountinue it... ive just got a screw sitting in the return line right now is that ok? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Do you have a ke70? K'sevs had return lines off the fuel pumps, ke30-55 etc didn't. You probably got a 30-55 type fuel pump! :y: Quote
zilli Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 hmmm yeh sorry, its a KE70... the pump was the suit the KE70 4k. Does the fact that it doesnt have one present an issue? do i just block the return line? Quote
archangel62 Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 If you block anything to do with fuel, do it properly, with a decent clamp. Hate to be a safety jerk but I've seen a few cars go up in flames, it's well worth the few bucks for a proper hose clamp etc  Quote
DearmanKE Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 and brakes, line lockers should be done properly lol Quote
darkon Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I think my fuel pump has died too I got no fuel coming through the carby and no fuel in the fuel line from the fuel filter would i be correct in thinkin the fuel pump has carked it?? so for the hi jack! Quote
ke30dude Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 That would be a pretty fair indication that the pump could be shagged. Quote
philbey Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Check all the screw around the pump body. I had an old Galant and the pump died, just tightened up the screws on the pump body and resealed the diaphragm and it was all go! Quote
zilli Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 the process of elimination i used was to check if there was fuel coming into the carby, which it wasnt, then the line from the pump to the carby, there was but nowhere near the required pressure Quote
anastasios Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 is there supposed to be a spacer between the block and the fuel pump on a ke70? Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Not sure, but there was a spacer on my 4k i got in me KE30... so id assume so mate! Quote
anastasios Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 yea because randomly the pump stoped pumping yesterday as i was going to start her up, ill take a look into it, could it be the fuel filter? Quote
anastasios Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 ok well ive put the spacer on as well as a new pump and gaskets, and when i go to start it its doing the same thing, the fuel filter has barely any fuel in it as well, any ideas? Quote
