beatdownte27mango Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Hey everybody, I have this te27 that I want to get rolling again. I recently blew the STOCK differential out and I have been unable to find a replacement 3rd member, so I am stuck with finding a junkyard replacement and custom mounting it... Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be an effective low cost fix? Quote
demuire Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 TE27 would come stock with T series center yes? If so, early Celica and T18 came with the same diff center. Although, since you have a TE27 I'm guessing you're not in Australia. Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 8, 2005 Author Report Posted March 8, 2005 Nope, from San Diego, mate... Which early celicas came with this diff center? Old celicas are all over the place over here, seeing as I am only 20 minutes from the Mexican border. By the way, what is a T18? Quote
beatdownte27mango Posted March 8, 2005 Author Report Posted March 8, 2005 Yes, the differential says T- something, but the sticker is quite worn. BTW, nice car Quote
demuire Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 (edited) a T18 is what Toyota Australia called the 2 door xE7x hatch. It's probably called a KE7x or TE7x over there. Old Celica - some TA22, TA23, RA23, RA28, not sure about others. Basically Celicas of about the same vintage as your TE27. Or, you can look under the bonnet and see if the differential says T something too  Edited March 8, 2005 by demuire Quote
