hey guys, Dregs here

my old '83 slant face ke70 is having some electrical problems. i recently got a tacho that i'm building into the dash where the old radio was (did this instead of getting tacho dash as i like the clock) and i was testing the tacho by just putting it on the radiator and connecting the signal wire to the coil, power to the positive battery terminal, earth to the negative and firing the car up. It all worked good but as soon as i got into the car i noticed that the clock doesnt work anymore! :y:

then i opened the door later that night and the interior clock doesn't work!!! :y:

i check all the fuses that are in the car, and i even checked the ones near the battery in the engine bay (even tho i'm pretty sure that they have nothing to do with the interior stuff) and i can't find a single blown fuse!! I have no idea whats wrong, are there inline fuses or something??? you never realise how useful that interior light is until you lose it!!!

sorry bout the long post but yeah thats my problem

anyone know the answer? is it something really simple and i'm missing it?

cheers fellas

yeah i blew three fuses yesterday. for some reason there was a cable hanging down just under the steering column, i think it was spliced off the igntion cylinder thingy, i think thats what they were using for power to the stereo :) before i bought it and ran a hardwire, this cable just had a connection hanging off it and it was grounding on this metal frame and blwing fuses so i shrink wrapped that sucker and all is good. retards
