stanza Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 I'm trying to find out what gearbox i have in my wagon and if there;s short shifter's around for them. I was driving up and down the street today and i noticed while in 4th it's really squishy. Anyways is there some way i can tell what box it is? Thanks Quote
trav_555 Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 umm pretty sure a 5 speed k box is k50 and a 4speed is a k40. what k engine though Quote
stanza Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 It's a 4k with a 5 speed, is there any markings on the box somewhere? Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) The box code is k50. As stated in previous post. don't think there are any markings on the box stating this though. Edited September 15, 2008 by KE70-from-mt-panorama Quote

Redwarf Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 A brief search using "short shifter" would have netted you this: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=17023 Can't buy them AFAIK, but they can be made. Quote
stanza Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 I actually did do a search.. Dialup stinks though.. Thanks for that link, It looks great. I'm guessing you don't want to make one to sell to me :y: But if you do shoot me a pm and i'll happly buy one. Quote
David[RL] Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 if it's the late model K gearbox you can use a T50(AE86) short shifter plenty of people making/selling those, but most of them are LHD as far as I know.. it will fit anyway but the shifter will be located more to the passenger side, but I guess you could just bend it a few degrees I think you still can get a TRD RHD shifter Quote
Golberg Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 if it's the late model K gearbox you can use a T50(AE86) short shifter plenty of people making/selling those, but most of them are LHD as far as I know.. it will fit anyway but the shifter will be located more to the passenger side, but I guess you could just bend it a few degrees I think you still can get a TRD RHD shifter As stated, a KE70 5 speed will work with any T50 short shifter of which there several options including the aforementioned TRD one but expect to pay around the $250 mark. If its a KE55 5 speed, custom is going to be the way. Quote
