oze_idiot Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Hi Soulsearcher, the rolla looks awesome. have you ever had to get replacement parts for the sportivo, and how did you go about it. everytime i ask about parts at toyota they say that the ae112 sportivo was an import an they can't order anything. the reason i ask is I'm chasing the mesh look front grille and the spoiler risers. i know it is possible to get sportivo parts because i bought a levin front lip spoiler but for sum reason i got given the sportivo front lip spoiler instead, and all for the same price (which was good coz the sportivo one is bigger and looks heaps better) if you could be of any help that would be greatly appreciated. turbo_rolla Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) i had this car for a couple of years before Lesley got it and made it heaps nicer, so might be able to be of some help. The cars themselves were imports in that they were brought in from japan, but alot of the work was done in Aus - got this from some info i found when i first got it: IT'S more what the Sportivo represents than any particular ability that is the most outstanding feature of this car. The base car is built at Takaoka in Japan, but the turbo, intercooler, heavy duty brake pads and clutch are added at Shinmei near where the cars are loaded on the boat to Australia. T-CAM in Sydney then fits stiffer springs, alloys and the locally-developed bodykit. T-CAM did much of the development work in Australia before it was all signed off by headquarters in Japan. The Sportivo's twin-port installation process is a first for Toyota, and the company says it could have global potential. So i'd maybe try and track down T-Cam if you're not having any luck? Or a body kit place could prob make the raisers up for you? Are the grills different though? i thought the levin would've been the same? Edited September 27, 2008 by turbo_rolla Quote
SoulSearcher Posted September 27, 2008 Author Report Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) Thank you  and WOW I love that colour!!! you also need some fog light inserts, that front bar looks bare! You can go into any Toyota Parts Department, and ask them, specifically as for the AE112R Sportivo Turbo (it's online on their computer system!!) Specify that it's the 7AFE with TURBO model, so they look up the right catalogue. They're fibbing when they tell you you can't get parts, I have had interior plastic panels, lenses, engine bay bits, clamps, clips, escutchion plates etc., etc., they just need to know where to look. - don't EVER ask for the price on a clutch!!!! LOL You can also cheat a little and ask for the LEVIN parts, some of those are quite similar... However, I will have the supplement book specific to my car, with all the part numbers in the near future... until then.. you can also get them online... here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-01-F...1QQcmdZViewItem and http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-01-F...1QQcmdZViewItem these are not exact though, my grille is a plastic honeycomb pattern whilst these are metal/mesh. The risers I have also seen online, I'll see what I can find! Lesley :hmm: Edited September 27, 2008 by SoulSearcher Quote
