Hey guys thought I better make a thread for my KE30 as I have alot planned for her.

 

Its a 1978 KE30 CS Corolla, which I bought off Fusion on here.

 

Its done a genuine 84,000km with proof and is in generally good condition.

 

However as you may know Ross (Fusion) had put a lot of work into the engine conversion so she isn't very granny spec anymore lol.

 

Basic specs are as follows

 

1978 KE30 CS Corolla 4 door sedan

 

3TC 1.8 litre single-cam four which has:

- Modified KE30 engine cross member

- New waterpump

- New leads

- New sparkplugs

- New rocker cover gasket and a head gasket (I think)

- Complete flush out

- Emission controls removed

- 2" Hurricane Extractors (4 - 2 - 1) with a 2" straight pipe to a Highflow Mufler.

- No engine fan

- New welsh plugs

- Modified KE30 engine cross member.

- Currently stock carby, but have twin Solex's to go on, just require linkages

- Brand new KE30 radiator with modified inlet and outlet to suit the 3T, with modified Daweoo electric thermo fan

- Converted to electronic iginition

 

TA22 T50 5-speed manual (apparently rare)

- Modified for hydraulic clutch set-up

- No modifications to shifter point

- Xtreme h/d clutch and lightened flywheel

- Standard KE30 diff, got a LSD to chuck in

 

Suspension/Brakes set-up

- Front

- RA40 Celica struts and brakes, Monroe GT shocks, Corona lcas to go in as well as some 2" lower springs, looking into some JDM AE86 struts and brakes so I can get some spja coil-overs, adjustable strut-tops etc

- Rear

- KYB shocks, getting leafs reset to drop her down about 2"

 

Wheels and tyres

- 14x6.5 +1 SSR MK3 rims with 185/60s, looks phat

- 14x6 unkown offset meshies with 185/60s

 

Got some 14x7 -5 Watanabes coming wooo

 

Exterior

- Standard yellow paint (gold according to rego lol)

- pretty good condition, very straight

- a little rust - front guards being replaced with rust free ones, usual rust under front end of bonnet, rust in boot, minor surface rust on rhs rear door.

- 35% tint

- Got a different grille and some rust freeee guards on the way to get it looking better

 

Interior

- Hmm well, just 1 crack in dash

- Standard cream cloth seats which I like but back is torn, drivers is torn and passengers isn't too bad yay

- overrated brown door trims, need some door pulls!

- Autotechnica steerer which is being replaced by sik Nardi Classic steering wheel on the way

- Little tacho in place of clock

- Putting a KE11 boot badge in place of ripped out radio ala 'Haydo style' (thanks Haydo!)

- Brand new Pioneer head unit in centre console which I need to wire up still gah

- U pull it spec black vinyl gear-boot

- standard gear knob held on with duct tape yeeww

- looking for overrated seats (preferably brown) and maybe a TE37 gear knob?

 

Phewww well ye thats pretty much it thank god

Haha Nick they were +6 now they're +1 if you know what I mean

 

I'm loving the 3T, heaps better than any K-engine I have driven, the torque is definitely helpful. Don't have to rev its guts off ya know haha

 

Took out an AW11 MR2, the dude swore it was 4A-GE, He didn't believe it was 'single cam' haha

 

can't wait for solex's hehe, then turbo the sod, then...ah fuk this

Seriously considering turbo after seeing some of the shit the guys in the States do to these engines.

 

But $$$ and legality is a problem lol

Haha yeh some of the turbo's they run over there on these are bigger than your head.

 

I don't know though, I don't really wanna spend too much on this as its my daily and its JUST a KE30 :)

 

Went to U pull it yesterday and got two overrated sunvisors, a black vinyl gear boot, and a full set of overrated stainless gutter trims which replaced my cracked plastic ones.

Not lowered yet :)

 

And yeah I don't reckon I can go 2 inches at the front with wheels with this offset lol, I reckon 1 inch would be enough.

Slam it.... watanabe it..... hk monaro style silver racing stripe front to back..... lose the side mouldings....... cruise it !!!

 

Usually I would say every car needs whitewalls and a venetian, but I reckon this thing would look cool with a race/rally theme.

if your springs on the RA40 struts have been lowered 2in already... mine must be lowered 4in hahah!!

 

But yeah the car is tuff, i reckon you could get 2in lower, just lip the front guards and put smaller tyres on. edit.. didnt realise you mentioned tyre size...

 

Nice rolla though, just cruise and enjoy! :)

The front struts have standard RA40 springs in them, not lowered RA40 springs. I STILL need to lower it

 

It currently has 195s on the front, they're bald as fuk, picking up some new 185s for a good price this arvo

 

But yeah the plan is, lower it (probs 1-1.5 inch at front, 2 inches at rear), different KE30 grille (like on Falken Ke30s 2 door), put on solex's, watanabes, new rust free guards, respray a few areas, new seats, and yeah just cruise it.

 

I actually like the side mouldings, just need to stick the one back on from the lhs rear guard as about 4-inches of it is starting to unstick.

 

Planning on keeping this for a while, as its probably my favourite Rolla so far, but I do really want a minta original KE20 or 26 so we'll see what happens.
