Medicine_Man Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks for being so specific of what vehicle/motor you are having issues with. I would suggest you invest in a workshop manual for your motor for a start.. Quote
godlovesugly Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 ive got a couple of different manuals for 3tc. what exactly do you need to know?? Quote
beerhead Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Using the dizzy cap as a guide put a mark for the position off the lead for cylinder 1 on the dizzy. Now spin the motor over to set the motor at 10 deg BTDC. Pull off the rocker cover and make sure that cylinder 1 is on rock (both valves shut) spin the motor over and make sure you're definitely on the fire stroke of the first cylinder. When you insert the dizzy it'll rotate a little because of the angular cogs, so you need to rotate it a little one direction before inserting to get it to line up right. Should be able to get it close enough to be able to get the motor to run, then use a timing light to get the timing spot on, might be out a tooth or 2 on the dizzy. Hope this helps :y: Quote
