Palmy Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 (edited) hey mate, sorry i can't help u much with those parts in ur last pic. but i think the bracket on the right would be 2 hold the acc cable in place..... about that black plate, i THINK that it is a heat shield, but if it still fits with the weber on i would say jus leave it on... i have no idea about that tube or the bolt at bottom, my kit is fairly different. i have the same engine and carby but i havent been able to hook mine up yet as my car is getting resprayed so i can only limit my knowledge on this lol I'm sure some other person can help u out more then me... lol Edited September 1, 2008 by Palmy Quote
OniBerserker Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 well this is what I'm thinking so far, L bracket bolts onto carby using one of the carby mount bolts, and one of the little bolt things mounts to this L bracket. other little bolt connects to throttle control. the acc cable is then run through lil bolt one to lil bolt two but then I'm left with a bracket and a spring. i seriously need some advice here :P Quote
johnny t Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 the spring is ur return spring for ur throttle johnnyt Quote
OniBerserker Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 ok, figured i don't need the L bracket, just using the other bracket bolted onto the carb mount bolts. acc cable fis into this, and then run cable through lil bolt thing attached to throttle control. so i should fit the return spring too the throttle. this is starting to make sense. what are the vacuum lines on the carb supposed to connect to? johnny t Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 yep i would... i don't on mine and the throttle sticks everynow and again.. i can't find a way to make it work yet.. all mine are bloked off and it runs fine... johnnyt Quote
OniBerserker Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 any of you guys who have hooked up one of these before could you tell me what these 3 vacuum ports should connect to? and i ran the return spring to the bottom of the inlet manifold where it used to bolt to factory exhaust manifold if thats any help to you johnny t Quote
Gecko71 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Try http://stores.ebay.com.au/GEM-PARTS-AUSTRA...ON-DIAGRAM.html for details on connections & the way to set up your throttle bracket & spring. Quote
tioklou Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 in my opinion you should block the (1) and (3) vacuum ports! the (2) vacuum you must connect it to your distributor! Quote
