DearmanKE Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 what size wheels are they first of all Quote
adam-__- Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 What did you mean by, "get the dish out alittle"? Do you want the wheels to stick out further? You're wanting to go to a smaller sized tyre so I'm guessing you want the 'stretch' look? Quote
Roo Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 you know what dish is? its the rim got nothing to do with tyres Quote
crazyrob Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 yeah i want the stretch look..they r 15s i spoke to a mate of mine from bob.. and he said to get for the back 195/50/15 Maxxis, Firestone could get them for both $100 each and or BJ Xeonon 89 each.. what ones would ya get? adam-__- Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 How wide are your wheels? From the looks of it, there's nothing really in the 15" tyre range small enough to give you that look. The smallest you can really go to keep the same rolling diameter is 195s and for these to have a stretch look, you'll be needing some 8"+ wide wheels. Stretching tyres is the new rice mod in my opinion. Some people think that there's no reason for you to stretch tyres, but I think that you only need them if your wheels with tyres any other size don't clear the guards. If you can put more than 1 finger between your guards and tyres, you don't need the stretch. Quote
Boost+k Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 rock some 185-55-15s more than enough grip for a K series corolla Quote
dashills Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 hey rob go for a 195 50 R15 , don't go bj's there shit for a good tyre spend the money ,savas are at the ok end and reasonably priced but its up to you and your money . what can you afford ? Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Ive just been through a whole lot of bs with cheap tyres, don't go there. Bob Janes brand is appalingly bad. Buy Dunlop/Michelin/Bridgestone/etc. Stick with the big, well known companies that can make nice true, well balanced tyres. I had some Korean tyres that were so out of round it wasn't funny. As said above, you need to invest in some wheels to fill your gaurds, then worry about tyre fitment for the stretch look. I don't give a hoot about a tonne of stretch, i have a little, enough to firm up the feel of the tyre, and no more. The way I see it, more rubber equals more grip, so I always cram fattys on there. Nothing wrong with a 205 on a 7J rim, IMO. Enjoy! Nice KE btw. :) Quote
