philbey Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Yeh twins sound nuts. I still marvel at how loud they are though..... Quote
leigh Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Dropped rolla off to get tuned! Was only about 80m away from the workshop and my clutch went! :bash: luckily it was only that lil circlip thing had bent and slipped off a lil way! Will need to get a new one or maybe two so it doesn't happen again! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 They were a pretty average design for the strain they get on them. Don't often even see them on old cars these days aswell as they've broken. All of my rollas just have a small hose clamp holding them in place. $2 fix and its stronger than the original. :bash: Quote

Ill do that when I pick it up! :y: Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I used a C clip thingy plus a hose clamp press against it to double up the force... Quote
trav_555 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I use 3 hose clamps on my ke70 clutch camble, its a bitch of a thing, but its holding in there ahahah Travis. Quote
leigh Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Used the hose clamp and its working! :y: Took it for a decent highway run this arvo! 5th gear at 100 is amazing! seems to have plenty of grunt but still taking it easy untill the motor wears in! It was pinging abit so i knocked the timing back a lil, still doing it slighty so i will try some higher octane petrol in her! As its only got standard at the moment! Hate the clutch in it! :bash: will be ordering a new one very soon! its way to aggressive!! Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 HAHA, then youll get a new one and hate it cause it wont have enough "bite" in it :bash: Quote
leigh Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 Installed new K - T HD clutch, thanks to Simon Taz_rx for helping me out with the part number! Soooo much better then the nasty button clutch! New reduction starter motor! :) One of the best things ever! Turns the motor over so easily even on a cold morning! And cleaning up the workshop I found these off my old wagon I sold! :P Car is running quite well! still trying to sort out the timing side of things.... pings a lil bit around 2,500 rpm and then seems to stop after that...... Not sure if i may need to get my elec dizzy re curved!! ?? I think i read somewhere how the curve in them is rather shitty........... any ideas? Cheers Leigh Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Yeah get the dizzy re curved, even if its not the main prob it wouldnt hurt to have it done :) Quote
philbey Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I haven't had to recurve mine, even with 11:1 compression. I'm running about 10 degrees advance but my idle is set to around 1200 rpm (which I don't mind) to get over the cam lope. If I had a lighter fly I reckon I'd have trouble with the idle though. Quote
