ke30 driver Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 been looking for a ke30 for ages now but have come across a ae102? i think it has a 20v silvertop in it and alot of work done to it eg brakes suspension motor, was wondering what capacity the 20v is coz it has 1.8 written on the doors so i assume the motor isnt original item, but i took it for a test drive and it flew stuck to the road like glue and has so much torque, also how much should i pay he says he spent 20g on it which is believable has a fresh rebuild some nice rims and good sound system, please help me Quote
swearze Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 20v is stile just a 1.6L but has a bit more of a kick. but if you say its a 1.8L then it might possibly have hade a hybride conversion done to it Quote

No, a silvertop 20v 4AGE is not standard in an ADM AE102 (they are for a JDM AE101 Levin, however). And just because it says 1.8L on the doors, doesn't mean that's the actual capacity of the engine currently fitted. The 1.8L stickers were standard for the RV Seca/hatches, and I doubt the previous owner would go to the bother of removing them or changing them to reflect the 1.6L 20v But it is possible that it's a 7AGE 20v conversion, but not likely. Easiest way would be to look at the block, see if it's a 3- or 7-rib, and also the exhaust for the extra section required to account for the increased deck height of the 7A. And no 20Vs have "so much torque". Unless they have a 7A block or snail/blower hanging off the side. They have to rev like buggery to make their power Edited October 29, 2008 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
