D1doony Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 carbied motors come in most 80s corollas best carby motor from that batch in my opinion would be the 4ac. same motor as the ae86 sprinters (the aus ones) and easy to work, parts are cheap. Quote

Travis No 4AGE was carby. The E in 4AGE = electronic fuel injection. You can convert them, but it's a fair bit of work for arguably no gain unless you're class-restricted for a track car etc. And best factory carby A-series would be a 4AFC from an AE92. Hiro Protagonist Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 I disagree oh great Ex-Deliverator. Induction noise FTW!! :jamie: Ok, one gain, but thats it. And you can get some pretty damn good induction noise on a 4A by using ITBs and trumpets, and still retain the EFI. Quote
Redwarf Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 I know. :jamie: But I'm old school. To me the peak of technology is the dcoe carb. I'm living in the 70's. Quote

trav_555 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 ok guys thanks, i just say that carbi 4age it it looked nice haha, thanks for all your help :jamie: Quote
PHATKE20S Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 I would like to add that the mid '80's Celicas (ST162=3S-GE) also came out with 4A-GE in them (AT160). The easiest way to spot the AT's is the stud pattern is 4x100PCD (13") not 5x100PCD like the ST's and SV2X Camry's. That's just my 2cents worth, hope it helps ;) Cheers Dougy :jamie: Quote
trav_555 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 cheers man one more car to look out for haha Quote
Johno Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 :jamie: With the gen 1 4age blue top it says 96kw. Is that a missprint cos I heard that they are 86kw Also, what car has the 4agze in it factory? Quote
Jono Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 rated 96kw in japan due to a different ECU which needs higher octane fuel than we can get here. our bigports are 86kw. the 4AGZE came out in the MR2 (JDM) and some Corolla/Levin/Sprinters in the ae92/ae101 shapes. the only difference to their NA counterparts is the pistons. And not all ST162s sold here were 3SGE and 5x100, the ST-spec had 3SFE and 4x100 wheels. SX had 3SGE and 5x100. Edited August 25, 2008 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
