karatan does a really good job, I have a custom sub box for my vs commodore made by them to fit the rear right hand sde of the boot perfectly.

Yeah, Nick is a good friend of mine.

He does great work, especially with commodores...and fibreglass.

He also did the install in my daily, which is enormous and good for 140db all day.

I'd definately recommend him to anyone.

...and finally, somebody using 6x9 for what they were designed for!!!!

being the parcel shelf of a hatch back, using the boot space as an enclosure, ie poor mans subs.

ALTHOUGH, since you have a sub, you would have been better off withj a set of 6" components! :P

HAHA i knew someone would say that! haha

There's method in my madness...the 15" doesn't serve well above 60-80hz...that's where the 6x9's come into their own...

with only 4" at the front, we needed something that CRANKED at the back, with heavy midbass.

they were $47 bucks a set and rated at 100wRMS!...so i figured they'd work well, and boy, do they!

+1 for Jaycar! :jamie:

It makes a huge difference, I know. I used to have 6x9s in the stock housings with no parcel shelf in the 82, sounded crap. Same speakers in a FRP/MDF-reinforced parcel shelf, with carpet covering the stock holes, and it was like a whole new system. Sub just adds to the effect, none of this mystical "cancelling" effect that so many people rant about.

UPDATE

bought new lower profile tires, sits a lil lower and handles like a demon!

bit of sad news...carbie has been temperamental since we bought the car, splutters a little on idle...

anyway, last night it just refused to idle, carbie needs to be taken apart and "rebuilt".

So carbie is off and away being refurb'd, also giving the baby a full service.

just a little disappointed it came around chrissie, kills the cash flow a bit for the missus...haha

Keep rollin!
