HIGH ROLLER Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Same, congrats again.... car is just too insane. My dad took one look at it and said: "Nahh!" hahaha Mark Quote
cuzzo Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Hey, Have you strengthened up the chassis apart from the roll bars? If yes how so. Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 I asked the same question...it was yes and i think it was through welding across the underbody.... Quote
oke020 Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 Yep i connected the front sub frame to a roll cage point that was braced along with the front leafspring mount Quote
SLW42 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 this car is insane would be an easy win over all those wankers in there skylines and vl's and shit!!!! quick question has it been beaten????? and if so by what?? Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 how much travel do you have between the diff and the floor? Mine seems to hit on any and every bump in the road and even on only light take-off and thats with standard height leafs Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Got Zoom today, car came up awesome. Once again, well done. It sure did look yellow when they were finished with it. Quote
oke020 Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 mr ae71, have not really had a run with much in it yet but its a 140mph+ at the moment and will be a 160mp car once i hook up the boost controller. Its hard to race cars at powercruise as it was laggy, they'd pull a few car lengths then it would come on boost and stand up on the tyres, at powercruise it had 295x65x15s on it too lol 13BT KE20, i have raised the centre section in the rear that held the original bump stop, i run a half bump in there now but my 26.5" tall tyres will hit up in the guards before it hits i think. I have had my spring rear eye reveresed and the leaf made to sit in the car up side down and sit flat, this got the rear a bit lower and made the leaf spring angle in relation to the 2 link bars much better. Mine would not be as low as yours either. I have a 4" dump and twin 3" pipes and mufflers under it and they are about 75mm from the ground. Quote

cuzzo Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 I bought Zoom. Just doesnt give it justice. Quote
oke020 Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 cuzzo What do you mean? mr ae71, i have only had two passes, need to get it teched now before i can run it again, was a shake down pass, did a slow launch, 7k shift to top instead of 8800rpm and drove through for a 10.30 @ 140mph, i have no boost control hooked up so its running on gate springs, around 21psi and on straight 98 octane fuel  i have another 20 or so PSI of boost to go plus 116 octane fuel, i just have to keep sneaking up on it though over the next year so can work out what the car can/can't handle. Quote
andro0o Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 so your dyno figure was that on low boost? it seems like the car will easily see a 9 sec pass, what are you hoping for when you work out all the kinks? Quote
oke020 Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 (edited) yeah the 516rwhp was on 98 octane fuel, and running no boost control so about 21-2psi, dyno power reading losses through a 6200rpm stall convertor and powerglide are substantial, i would safely say its making about 700 at the fly in current tune. I gestimate the way it is it should be good for 9.60s at 145mph odd, et could be lower for the mph but i don't think its ever going to 60' very well. The turbo is hardly working at the moment, another 10-15 psi and c16 fuel should put it at the 1000 flywheel hp i designed it to make. Although the bottom end has some very stout hardware i still pieced it together so we'll have to see if it lasts, at 1000hp i expect it will need frequent (50 passes or so) rod bearing checks and replacements. With the desired 1000hp (and if the car can be sorted to handle) should see it drop another second or so into the 8.60s. I also have capacity for up to 100hp shot of the good stuff aswell  Edited February 10, 2009 by oke020 Quote
oke020 Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 (edited) this car from PR most probably has less rear end work and a realistically less potent setup than my car and runs into the  at only 149mph, mine 'should' leave straighter though as i have built a large anti roll bar for it to stop that twisting.
