Hiro Protagonist Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) My 7A clicked over 313000km this morning taking the g/f to work, still has never had the head removed or any major work done on stock engine components bar scheduled servicing, and still goes strong. Doesn't leak coolant, doesn't leak oil, no rattles or grinding noises from the engine, only thing that might give you the idea that it's done that many k's is the oil consumption, which is typical of A-series engines of that age (oil changes are needed every 5000km instead of 10) Edited August 17, 2009 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
Bowler Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) I Finally changed my engine at 369000K - it was still running, but due to neglect and me wringing the absolute neck out of it, I'd burnt through a valve on 3, and was about to burn through another 3 valves after we took the head off. But just installed a motor from the wreckers, and it feels good. (Torque is a nice feeling) Edited August 17, 2009 by Bowler Quote
Instigator Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) I just replaced the 4afe in my AE95 4WD. 419,500 kms, no compression on the third cylinder for the 10 months that I drove it around daily before changing it. God knows how many before that. Thing never missed a beat, used hardly any oil, no smoke at all, just no power :P Edited August 17, 2009 by Instigator Quote
