cuzzo Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 How bout you not drill the hole in the engine bracket for the rubber mount thread. Then whoever wants the motor further back / forward higher/lower can drill or mark and get drilled to suit their application? Quote
2TGEU KE35 Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 You could always buy the dizzy relocation kit for the 20v. It mounts the dizzy on the front of the cam cover. Not cheap though. But if you want it done properly id go down that route. Personally 20v isn't the best choice. A nice fresh 16v would be a better option. Quote
KE ping it real Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) I'm still definatly 100% keen for a set ;) Edited August 13, 2008 by KE ping it real Quote
ChrisGT Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 What you may want to for people using the T50 box, is use the original T50 gearbox mount as it bolts straight into the KE3X/5X. Bolt the box into the bolt holes on the tunnel closest to the rear of the car and set your motor off that. This brings the motor at a nice distance from the firewall for the 16V and weight distribution. This saves having to make a custom gearbox cross member. don't think it will work for your 20V, because of the dizzy. Maybe you could use the Bolt holes closer to the firewall for the box with the 20V setup. Quote

greenmac80 Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) I'm still definatly 100% keen for a set ;) good finished making the bits just need to test fit tomorrow. then if it work i'll duplicate the sections and get them welded up. i'll leave the rubber mount hole for you to drill makes more sense that way. how close it sits from the front Edited August 14, 2008 by blackrolla80 Quote
KE ping it real Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Awesome mate Love your work Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 ok made the side plates. found that for you 16v guys i'm gonna have to design the drivers side one a little different. but won't be any harder. ok for the 20valvers i left 20 mm from the end of the dizzy.(to allow engine movement plus the extra distance the dizzy cover takes up.) for you 16valvers i can leave the mounts as is but the distance is 70mm from head to firewall. greenmac80 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 (edited) sump hard to see but it is flat and height mounts aren't welded just test fitted before duplicating the sections actually decided i don't like the drivers side one and i'm gonna change it. will post pics when i'm done Edited August 15, 2008 by blackrolla80 Quote
