crazywhiteboy Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) Hey everyone! I'm buying a AE82 Corolla this week... it's got a few mods, and it doesn't look too bad, but I'd like to do more to it. I'm new in Darwin, I'm actually new in Australia, I'm from South Africa, so I don't know much about this whole country... and was hoping that I can learn some new things from this site seeing as I'm now a Corolla owner :P: It's got a 2.5" cat back with canon, standard 4-2-1 extractors, pod filter, Monza racing seats, AE86 front lip modified to suit the AE82, 17" wheels, 2X MTX 12" subs, 2 amps, splits, and a Kenwood head unit. Just updated this post so that I don't look like a complete ass  Will hopefully be updated frequently  Edited June 10, 2009 by crazywhiteboy Quote
PHATKE20S Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Welcome to Rollaclub mate I recently got rid off my fleet of AE8X rolla's and seeing this beast makes me sort of miss them :P:  That looks awesome mate. I never saw a kit on one of these sedans before. It looks very unique  Keep us posted on your progress. Cheers Dougy Quote
Johno Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I reccon that kit on it now looks fine the way it is. Its a square car so you don't want to have a curvy bodykit. I think change the grill and have it colour coded with the rest of the car would be the only thing i would change on the outside. Quote
simsey Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) Hey man, thats the nicest AE80 I've ever seen! Yeah I agree with Johno, keep the kit thats already on the car, it looks sweet! What sort of engine does it have in it? Edited August 6, 2008 by simsey Quote
duggy Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 car looks fat as mate i wouldnt change anything also why do u want a dogbox? Quote
beerhead Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Budget around 5 - 8 thousand for a dog box. They aren't really for street use bud and make a hideous noise too. You're best motor & box combo's that bolt in easy are in the 4AGE family. 4AGE's don't bore out for crap, they're a compact engine and don't have big sidewalls between the pistons, 7AFE's are 1.8L though. Google is your friend, you'll find heaps of people that have played with similar rolla's to this. Quote

crazywhiteboy Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 Yea man, the car's got a few problems at the moment, I replaiced the distributor cap, rotor, coil, coil leads and ignition leads, then I bought a new battery, and it's still not working!!! Gonna go get a new ignitor today, let's hope it fires up! Thanks for the great comments guys, I don't' think I'm gonna be getting a dogbox, I don't have that kinda money... gonna be redoing the dash though, with a carbon fibre look, maybe airbrush the graphics on the bonnet and modify the wheels etc. I'll keep u boys updated. Johno Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 (edited) Do you have some more pics of this beast, love the first photo. I gotta see this 20v engine... Porn! :P PS: What on earth is a dogbox??? :P Edited October 10, 2008 by Johno Quote
crazywhiteboy Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 WOW I totally forgot about this thread...... Was reading everything I said in the original post and just couldn't stop laughing..... damn I was dumb :y: Anyway, I am 16 no more :D turned 17 in May. Unfortunately I still have my L's, but will be going for my P test AGAIN in exactly 1 week. Failed the first time coz I did just over 40kmph in a school zone, I almost started punching myself! So I've had a lot of drama's with the car over the last couple of months, to be honest, I haven't even driven it in about 9 months :P It's been sitting at a workshop up here in Darwin for a while now as me and my dad rooted the car. As I had my L's and couldn't drive it on my own - and visiting the ladies with daddy next to you isn't cool - I let one of my "former" mates drive it. No way I would let him drive it alone so I was in the passenger seat at all times. So one night going to his place after a party we go around a corner and it just dies. Next day we call a towtruck to pick it up and take it home, so there it was, sitting at home with my dad trying to figure out what the problem was. Then every time he though he'd fixed it, he'd do something else to it :( At the end he ripped out the dash, cut ALL the wires from the ECU, and pretty much after the whole "festival" the car had NO interior. After that, I bought a MicroTech LT8s, individual coil packs, X4 ignition module, and a hand controller, which is now being installed. The guy fixing the car, called Dr. Josh, has told me it should be another 2 weeks until I get it back. I'll add some photo's from when I first got it coz I only just realized that there's one photo in the original post. Will keep this updated as I go :hmm: This last photo was just a joke, didn't actually take the car out like that..... Also forgot to mention that I've got a AE92 dash sitting here waiting to be put in, the guy fixing the Corolla told me it'll fit right in there, chances are really small that the mounting brackets will have to be modified a tiny bit though which isn't really a problem :P Quote
ae174agze Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 you broke it by trying to put the michrotec in, trying to blame it on your dad tisk tisk tisk i've been from start to finnsih on your BC thread old quinie Quote
