Ke-30 Corolla 5 Spd

I have a 2 door KE-30 Corolla with the 3K-C engine (1200) and was wondering if there are any 5 spd gearboxes around that will drop straight inplace of my 4 spd box?

i believe the ke55 and ke70 both came out with a 5-speed option from the factory. you should be able to source a 5-speed box (i think its known as a k50?) for relatively cheap from a wreckers or from a forum member here.

I will have to do some research on those two models and then scour the wrecking yards. The 4 spd is okay, but tends to get a little noisy on the highway. If it will be a straight swap then it will be well worth the while.

You will want the KE55 one as if you get the KE70 one the shifter is further back and you will need to cut and shut.

No need to make extra holes in a 2 door 30 :)
