who here actually slows down for small country / hills towns? like would u do 60-75 in the 50 zone because u can't be bothered to slow down more from doing 80 or 100?

i'm not starting arguments, just asking who actually slows to 50kmh for a few hundred metres.

I do - more chance of getting booked in that 300m stretch than the rest of the highway I reckon. On any long drive I see more cops around those little 50kph zones than in the 100/110kph zones

Country cops are VERY protective (and rightly so...). It's my rule that I NEVER speed through a country town. It's also about respecting country people's rights for a peaceful, safe life.....

true, I'm the same Redwarf, last thing I want to do is piss off a country yocal and have him chase me with the rest of the town (which could potentially be his relatives) with pitch forks and spades etc.

That and it gives you a chance to check out the town for cool things like funny shops etc.

prepare for the unexpected.

you never know whats in a small country town, could be little kids everywhere.

i always slow down to the posted speed limit.....as nick said, you would see more police in that 300m of road than at 100kph.

good, cos i live close to country towns, and i'm sick of getting faces / fingers at me for actually doing the speed limit.

glad to know that people out there DO care if they hit lil jonny while he crosses the road to get his icecream from ned's general store. :lock:

i will be driving very slowly around the hills now, after my accident tonight, made me very paranoid. :((

you have to remember though that one accident shouldnt stop you from driving, it wasnt your fault so why should you suffer. just be on the lookout for dickheads and you should be fine. don't get to thinking that you shouldnt go out driving cause some dickhead "might" hit you.

they get whats coming to them anyway. :lock:
