sam k Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Hey guys just wondering what way you turn the air fuel screw on the carby, if you want to make it rich and make it lean? Quote
ke20rolla Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 In = lean because it cuts the fuel out= rich because it lets more fuel in :hmm: :) Quote
Raven Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Clockwise = Lean Anti-Clockwise = Rich That better Winky? :) Quote
tas_ae71 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 could it vary depending on what carb you have??^^^ Quote
Philbo Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 All carby's are the same. KE20Rolla's carby seems to be different to TazRx's... I'm going with: In - Rich, Out - Lean Hey, let's just vote on it :) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 How I said is how its been with every mazda carby I've played with, as well as my old model plane motors. Don't know if it differs from carb to carb. If you wind it out and the rpm rises its because you're leaning the mixture, not because you're adding more fuel. Quote
ke20rolla Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Hi guy's Tazrx and Philbo are 100% wrong with the way that they think that the mixture screw works to make the car richer or leaner. I had a look in a corolla k series work shop manual and another manual and both say the same thing. QUOTE: Turning the mixture screw in a clockwise (IN) direction gives a leaner mixture, and anti-clockwise(OUT) gives a richer mixture. Next time you have your car idling, just screw the mixture screw in all the way(clockwise) and I bet you anything that it will stall the car, as this cuts off the amount of fuel going into the carby. :hmm: :( :( Just read it for yourself in the fuel section of your workshop manual. :) (Y) :y: :y: Quote
furryfrog Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 works the same way as the taps in the shower anti clockwise for more water clockwise for less Quote
Philbo Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Well I stand corrected. The last post of this thread is worth a read though http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=21679 Quote
