kingnatho02 Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 I'm doing a diff conversion and I heard you can use a lite ace diff, does anyone know what is involved. Cheers Quote
towe001 Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 I've been thinking of using the diff from a Datsun c20 van (or whatever the a12 powered jigger is called). So i'll be following this 1 - tape measure 2 - pen and paper 3 - computer so that i can google for some research. Don't want to do a swap for something that turns out to be crap (eg: strength and/or wrong diff ratios) You sure it hasn't been spoken of before on the forum? How about on ToyMods ? Quote
phife Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Depends what it's going into, won't be bolt up job at all. I believe they are an E series diff meaning no LSD's available if you want one later. Quote
Rob74coupe Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 how about an 8" hiace diff? i have a 78 hi-ace truck with a g162 diff, i think its about 5.7 ratio :bash: any better ratios available for a g series diff? how about lsd (the truck could use lsd too!) i reckon youd have to shorten it but i don't think youd be able to blow it with anything short of a 440 big block v8 itd probably affect the power to weight ratio too much though cheers, rob Quote
towe001 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 If its the same one used in the hilux, all you'll have to do is pop in to a local 4x4 shop and you'll have a massive range of gear ratio, locker, lsd options available. Quote
