I'm trying to get this beast back on the road asap.....but i don't want to rush it and ruin it :no2:

Don't worry...it will be there in a month or so, hopefully ;)

Time is hard to find when you work 6 days a week :S

Thanks for your comments and i will keep you all informed on the progress :D

Thanks for the encouragement Guys, i am very happy now i've stuck with the original Blue

Made a slight bit of progress today...... Got the windscreen out (it was cracked when i got it)

Getting ready for the strip back. I saw the Blue at it's best under the rubber OMG :y:

It looks great :bash: I'm convinced now for sure that this beast deserves to be Restored NOT Modified

Thanks

Dougy

Hey D, good to read that she'll be staying original. I too am not a fan of modifying rare cars.

So who did your guard??

What did the panels cost?? You still buying a bunch??

I'm so happy i started with a straight body...

I have enough bodywork to do on my daily KE25 to keep me going for a while ;)

Just need to get rid of all the bare patches/surface rust and then she's going to the painters..... :jamie:

Also have to finish stripping the parts off to make the prep work even easier

(i'll won't be getting much time to work on this :'( so it has to be as quick and easy as possible)

Cheers

Dougy

Hi Mate

It had never much in the back at all. :'( It was bought Brand New by Uncle ?? ;) . He has used it as his private car. Not as a work car at all.He bought it new in Nundah. He never did much Km's with it and passed away :sob: about 10 years ago.

It was passed on to a cousin who intended to keep for his daughter ;) . He put it on brand new tyres, the spare is the original tyre, gave it a service and parked in the garage. When the Daughter (One of my students...Yes yes I am some sort of a teacher :'( ) became old enough to start driving she told her dad that she did not liked the car. He kept it for a bit longer. When He found out that I was running an automotive program for disengaged students he offered me a deal I could not refuse!!!!! So I ended up with this car fel in :P love with it and put it aside in the shed and bought a falcon :jamie: for the boys to work on instead!! However we did an oil and filter change, replaced all hoses, thermostat and housing and put new coolant? in it! It also got a new coil, radiator cap and other little bits.

But after a while I realized that I never would find the time to do her justice!! I am in the proces of doing an old Cortina MK1 up love my 4WD, jetski and motorbike!! :)

I had quite a few people intersted in the car but only a few wanted to do it up and keep it mostly original.

So, I am 99% sure that you will be the second registered owner as the cousin never registered. How ever I am not sure if he ever put the car in his name. I am pretty confident he did not. :y:

So keep up the good work!!! :y:

:)

See yah

Yeah mate that's what i thought.....

It's good to have a car that can be tracked back to its dealership days :jamie:

The little beast is purring like a kitten (many thanks for the dollars you spent giving the engine bay a once over) ;)

Also noticed a few Genuine parts were used (good to keep it original as possible)

I'm a Very happy Second Owner for sure...... :'( ;) :y: :'(
