78CorollaKE30 Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Does anyone have a diagram (or picture) of the correct way to connect the vacuum lines on a 1978 KE30? I took the carb off to rebuild it (and yes I labled the hoses and carb before I removed it) but I'm not sure if they were ever connected correctly. Also, is there anything I can use to make a gasket where the carb meets the manifold? My rebuild kit didn't come with one Thanks Quote
philbey Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Go to an automotive joint and ask for some gasket paper. it'll be a sheet of black stuff, like tough cardboard. Smear a thin layer of oil on the base mating face of the carb and place it on the paper, and you'll have the outline of the carby face to use as a stencil. Cut it with a stanley. No love on the vacuum gear though, mines too old for emissions gear! Quote
