Tally Posted July 7, 2008 Author Report Posted July 7, 2008 (edited) Well my mate couldnt get the pistons out of the calipers lol. He soaked them in kero and brake cleaner since friday. He applied compressed air and everything and still couldnt get em out lol. So went and picked em up today and dropped em off at Power Brakes. 20 minutes later and "pop" out they come lol! Now getting them rebuilt. Should be sweet. Cheers Tally Edited July 7, 2008 by Tally Quote

woteva Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 As far as I know PBR are the only ones that re-sleeve in stainless steel. I have used PBR at Norwood for 20 odd years, never had any problem with them, and often getting trade prices. A. Quote
philbey Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 You're not talking about the brake joint on the Parade are you? Quote

Tally Posted July 18, 2008 Author Report Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) ok guys got the calipers back today. Havnt been rebuilt as of yet... but I told the guy to order in the parts. I told him they were off a KE25 but he said on the computer it shows two different types of calipers and my calipers don't look anything like the pictures. He said they look exactly like KE30 calipers. So he said ill order in the pistons for them and the rebuild kits aswell. So basically I'm confused. So thats why I took some pics. Do I have KE30 calipers or KE25 calipers? I thought you couldnt use KE30 calipers with 12" rims? If thats so I must have KE25 Sumitomo calipers? Anyone got a close up pic of a caliper that is defiantly KE30? On the PBR website it shows that the FRONT WHEEL piston is the same on KE25, KE30 and KE55 = JB8128 It also says that the FRONT WHEEL Kit-Caliper (Min) is the same on both KE25 and KE30 = K1180S And I should say that I assume these parts are for the sumitomo caliper type. Item No: 260235282559 on ebay looks to be a KE30 caliper as the numbers on the fin are different? KE55 calipers look pretty much the same but the part that bolts up to the backing plate is different to mine and also the numbers on the fin: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=12707 Here is a picture of KE30 calipers: http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~bradw/callipers.html Edited July 18, 2008 by Tally Quote
Raven Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 My access to a limited work database tells me they're KE30 ones. KE30 had Sumitomo or Toyota calipers  Quote
Budowski Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 the ke30 calipers i rebuilt work fine on my ke25 and are identicle to the old ones i pulled off Quote
Tally Posted July 18, 2008 Author Report Posted July 18, 2008 ok sweet guys thanks for the info... what discs are you running man? stock or KE30? Quote
Budowski Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 ok sweet guys thanks for the info... what discs are you running man? stock or KE30? just running the ke25 disc, also i think i had to use the ke25 mounting for the caliper eg the slides bracket, pretty easy give it a good lube Quote
Tally Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Yea sounds good man but your running bigger rims arent you? Can you still use stockies with your setup? Quote
Budowski Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Yea sounds good man but your running bigger rims arent you? Can you still use stockies with your setup? I threw the stockies away. I'm very very sure that the calipers i took off were identicle in size just older so there should be no problem at all do you have any ke30 stuff ? if so just swap em over and see how you go. If your having majour problems i don't mind coming over and having a look at it with you. Quote
Tally Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Cheers dude that helps alot. See if I can find some Ke30 calipers then. Cheers Tally Quote
Budowski Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 i just grabbed a torch to have a looks there is massive room between the caliper outer and the rim inner say 30-50 mm or so Quote
