ROLLLA Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 ive done the conversion to my car. please tell me your going to buy a whole commodore to do the conversion. don't make the mistake of buying everything separate. Quote
SeptemberSquall Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 ive done the conversion to my car. please tell me your going to buy a whole commodore to do the conversion. don't make the mistake of buying everything separate. whole v6 commos are basically free these days right? no reason not to buy one whole you'd get reamed pricewise by comparison by buying seperately Quote
marvis Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) EDIT: nm nm will keep anti commo comments to self. Edited July 17, 2008 by marvis Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 That Camry V6 idea is where its at. With a little digging and research its actually quite possible. Not as much fabrication involved for sure as a VN v6. more power and more torque too! The reason youve never seen a Camry v6 doing a burnout is because no-ones really gone and built one that Ive seen. No-ones saying it so I may as well. Do the VN motor if you want a front heavy, very powerful and fast rolla with tonnes of understeer. Basically if you want to die. I remember a while back someone on this forum and Ebay trying to sell a ke70 with a VN v6 in it. The problem he had was it was illegal as hell and he wasn't able to sell it to anyone who could actually get it regoed, from memory. Why not just buy his steaming pile of ke70 and see what you would have been doing all the work to achieve? It was going cheap in the end, don't know if it ever sold. Have a search in the ebay items thread for v6 ke and see what you find. Also: How old are you? Are you restricted under the new anti-fun-on-the-roads laws? What gearbox are you using and how will you make it fit? Whats the car for? Will you need rego or is it a summernats burnout warrior that lives on a trailer? Whats your budget? Quote
beerhead Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Yeah, I'd say they're talking about going to the auctions and paying $700 for a VT that's been rolled. If you use a VT motor you need to integrate the fob reader from the console and use the matching ecu so the immobiliser works. The gearbox is computer controlled too if auto. whole v6 commos are basically free these days right?no reason not to buy one whole you'd get reamed pricewise by comparison by buying seperately Quote
