Camo88 Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 hey guys, just wondering how much work would be involved in putting a 5k or 7k into my ke30? would it require work on the fire wall, trans tunnel etc? and would i alson need to get a different gearbox or could i jus stick with the 4spd it has atm? cheers Quote
irokin Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 This is about as easy as engine conversions get! No firewall mods, no trans tunnel mods and you should be able to stick with your current gearbox. It probably will require exhaust modification because they have a higher deck height than the 3K IIRC. The 7K definitely does but not 100% sure about the 5K. Quote
Phonic Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 I recenttly converted to a 7K in my KE30. The only thing you really have to modify is the sump (has to be cut and shut to clear the cross memeber). I used the stock 3K engine mounts and it fits no worries. Quote
Xany Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Exhaust should be fine if using the 5K.....no mods needed there either :P Quote
Phonic Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Exhaust should be fine if using the 5K.....no mods needed there either :P Same situation with the 7K, I'm still using my complete KE30 exhaust. Quote
78_7kRolla Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Dude just a quick little rant, before you go ahead and post up a new topic you must search the engine conversions database as there are numorous topics on the topic of 7k conversions. Just a heads up for the future. Here are some: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=8537 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=15311 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=8712 Cheers Matt.
