ke30dude Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Posted July 13, 2008 Nothing to add people, currently staying over in the ACT hospital. Watch for the silver zze122r sedan with the hyperfangs, wing and towbar driving like shit LOL. Quote
ke30dude Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 Well we finally got home a week and a half ago. This project is now dedicated to my daughter Alexis Kate, 28/7/08 - 15/8/08 Engine has made good progress! stock internals for now, have to clean up and refresh a 3k head for it tomorrow. all new rings, bearings, gaskets. Tried on a 1zzfe oil filter tonight for size and it fits incredibly well. I may toy with this idea later on down the track. Body is almost ready for paint, all bolt on panels except the doors are rubbed back, skim the ripples from the dents and they will be good. I cracked the windscreen trying to get it out of the damn old seals, however I searched all over my fathers back yard today looking for a badge for somone and founf a original ke20 windscreen with the old skool NRMA sticker on it. I need to find a battery with enough go in it to kick the old 3k into life to drive it out onto the lawn to work on the main shell. Anyway PICS! Quote
Jono Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 I'm sorry to hear about your daughter! what happened? Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 I'm sorry to hear about your daughter! what happened? Same here, sorry to hear about that. Hope all is well, dedicating a build to a loved one's memory would make it all that much more rewarding to complete. Take care of yourself champ. MM Quote
ke30dude Posted August 25, 2008 Author Report Posted August 25, 2008 I am not really up there with the technical terms but I know it was a severe brain disorder, which has no apparent cause or cure, they didnt even have a name for the condition. No apparent cause or cure, but the autopsy results come back in a couple ofmonths. Cheers guys. Quote
Doogs Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 My heart goes out to you and your family. I agree with HIGHROLLER's comments, this project will mean all the more to you when it is done. Best of luck with it. Quote
Johno Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 My thoughts go out to you and your missus, hope all is well. Engine looks really good. If i don't go ahead with the 4age conversion i might paint my 4ac, did you use septone engine enamel? Quote
ke30dude Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 yeah the spray can engine enamel. Every part was done seperate, everything was cleaned with a toothbrush and soapy water before pant lol. Quote
ke30dude Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 Car is stripped enough to just mask up the doorways and window holes, sand and bog/weld then paint. About to go start it up and drive it into the yard to get everything roling along. Quote
ke30dude Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 PUlled the battery from the commodore earlier, put it in, and it went first pop again. Reversed out of the garage onto the side of the road drove down to the driveway and into the yard. (I hate living on a corner like I do, surely I will get booked one day.) Sanded the rear right quarter, and started rodoing the bog from a side impact years ago, one more layer and I can put that part in primer. onto the left side again to finish that off, sand the roof, inner door area and then prime the lot.
