Borg Warner Diff

Hey guys, I just did a quick search but didn't find anything. So sorry if this has been covered but I was wondering if the diff centers can be swapped from KE70's into KE55's?? (Borg Warner)

 

I'm kinda hoping to find myself an Auto Diff for my sedan and wagon.

Ive got a flogged out KE70 auto diff here if you wanted to take it for a trial fit?

what about a whole diff swap to something a little stronger?

 

the auto version had a lower ratio than manual ones correct??

i think the auto has the higher ratio.

Manuals are 4.1, autos are 4.3

I heard that auto diffs accelerate faster. That's the goal. :(

Or go through the gears quicker, not neccesarrally any faster! :(

I half agree with you, if you're talking about a boosted car or something with some capacity and torque.

 

But if this is for a 1.3 or a 1.6L motor, with a decent rev range, it's going to amplify you're torque, because you're in a marginally lower ratio than normal, whatever gear your in.

 

Littlered's blacktop going from 4.1 to 4.55 ratio was something to behold, totally transformed the car.
