SLO-70Y Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Hey guys I posted this on Toymods but didn’t get much help so I thought I’d ask you…. Hey guys is anyone running a peddle box with the clutch master mounted under the dash and the reservour remote mounted (something like a van setup) as I will need to do this because my intake plenum is in the way. Any pics would be great has I can do all the fabricating just need an idea on where to start. Cheers Shaun. Quote
Davros El Davros Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I would say jump on google and start searching around - I was investigating this option a little while ago also and found a few hot rod forums and other info.. I just found about 4 sites that have info and pics. Heres on with a few images for inspiration: Click Its obviously not Australian but can give you a few ideas. Good luck - be keen to see what you come up with. What sort of engine/setup are you running? Quote

I’ve got a sr20det here is my rides page http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=20868 . I will have a look at it some more over the week end and see if I can come up with something, cheers Shaun. Quote

oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) After reading your thread i would be inclined to change the plenum rather than the master, maybe taper it at the back? Also i'm pretty sure you cut the fuel rail mounts off your manifold, so don't forget to weld some of them on. ;) I have a custom plenum on mine, it has gtir quad throttles and i still got it to clear a much larger master cyl than that, i do need remote reservoir though. Love your work, keep us updated! :lolcry: Edited June 20, 2008 by oh what a nissan feeling! Quote

The taper has been changed from those photos it’s about 15mm smaller any more any it would be getting close to those stacks I think. With those mounting point I have no idea why they were removed but it is getting a billet rail so I will get some brackets welded on cheers. Quote
irokin Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Just looking at your rides thread. Whats wrong with a standard manifold? It'll flow more air than the chinese turbo will. In fact I've seen the standard redtop manifold flow 550whp on a mates T88 equipped drag car...! Not ideal but it more than managed. I imagine it should clear the master cylinder too. The standard S13 clutch master is longer and closer to the motor than that. Quote
SLO-70Y Posted June 20, 2008 Author Report Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) The way that the motor is mounted the standard intake plenum hits the steering box so I went this way with it. I would of liked to use something off the shelf but that’s what you get with this type of thing. Edited June 20, 2008 by SLO-70Y Quote

I will get some pics of my plenum, problem is when i picked my car up from the fabricator the plenum was tack welded, and he was only half way through finish welding it. That was months ago, so i will call him and pick it, then rest it on and take some photos :lolcry: Quote
Ke20nut Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 i heard these under dash units are now illegal is this true. i believe its only illegal if its a modification, as vans are still made with an under dash unit. am not 100% . is this true look into it Quote
