Hey all,

been looking at a few 3k's lately and also had a few people look at mine that have seen a few aswell, and my engine number is located in a different spot as apposed to all other 3k's i have seen.

What (if any) is the difference between the two? Pictures attached for reference

It's the difference between early and late 3K blocks. Early (generally green) blocks have them where yours are, and later (generally red blocks) have it in the other position. :)

Both are exactly the same internally just a different position. I have race with both types of blocks and had no probs with either of them

masssive dig up here....

i am about to put an early block in my GF's car... and have noticed there is no gearbox mount on the manifold side of the motor? not like the later 3k blocks..

is it going to be ok to mount the k50 to this motor?

you may also end up with one of the gearbox mounting holes being half a hole out. Found that out when using an early/late combination. Nothing that couldnt be rectified with a drill.
