fusion Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) I just took out the aircon from my AE71 :bash: I started from the canister that connected to the radiator. Using a spanner I lightly undid the valve nut until I could hear the gas escaping, than stood back to see how much it was coming out. If it was safe to do so, I than undid the valve some more, continuing the process until the valve was loose and the pipe could be pull away. Make sure you have a decent set of spanners, as it will make your job a bucket load easier! Edited June 3, 2009 by fusion Quote
Murd 55 Posted June 4, 2009 Author Report Posted June 4, 2009 i just bought a sidchrome socket set, made pulling most of the front end down so much easier, decided i needed to invest in some decent tools when i managed to split a socket bit when trying to undo a guard bolt. lol. wont be doing the aircon anytime soon I'm sure but thanks for the tips! Murd 55 Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 so i spent a little bit of time pulling the front end apart, also removed most of the body kit, and the plastic chrome stuff in the windshield rubber, but have worked a lot of overtime lately and also had a couple things i needed to fix on the new girl. here are pictures, not one for words atm. except f@$k i hate rust and dodgy repairs! and finally, the new girl in the family. Murd 55 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Report Posted July 9, 2009 so the 55 should be something liek this colour. not quite this low around a 2inch drop at the front and just under at the rear, probably wont have redwalls either. all in the working stuff out phase. plan to do the boot and engine bay black have been working on the window chrome strips one snapped, so i glued back together, have bogged them up and sanded them back and given em a coat looks pretty good will get some picks up sometime have only done the two shorter strips for the front window so far, had issues with the 72 that were wasting my 55 time lolz. colour code is 1E0 is a toyota/lexus colour that was on a car in work. looked mad! Tume Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Are you planning on having the door handle and lock chrome. As well as a chrome strip over the top of the windows? Seems like it will need just that something to break it up a bit. Quote
Murd 55 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Report Posted July 9, 2009 Yeah lol just a really bad photoshop job  the gutter chrome will be near impossible to find but the strip under the windows is chrome  will be much the same as it is now only the window chrome will be chromeish again there is no scoop and there is no spoiler and it is a much darker colour.
