Murd 55 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 the repair was done in a few days, it didnt have much time to set then i guess. o well. it will all be redone eventually! Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Care to share how the cracks appeared after all this time. ;) Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 my guess is a 2pack primer wasn't used? it is weird tho! the heat woulda done it although its been two yrs now hasn't it? Quote
Murd 55 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 ok, possibly due to hitting a spoon drain a tad hard, but still, it shouldnt have done it. the wheel arch was cracking already and that wasn't anything i did, so it was going to happen without my help anyways. Quote
Murd 55 Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 so, who wants to chop some springs :) I'm gettin annoyed at ride height. haha. so tempted to chop the fronts and put some fat tyres on the rear (higher profile) Quote
Tume Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 ONe thing... DON'T. Chop springs that is. As always said, do it once properly. Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 so, who wants to chop some springs :P I'm gettin annoyed at ride height. haha. so tempted to chop the fronts and put some fat tyres on the rear (higher profile)    :no2: :no2: :no2: chop chop = good idea if you want to try to kill yourself if ever decide to try the twisties again :) Quote
Murd 55 Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 yeah yeah ok, ill just buy some lowered springs then. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 chopping springs just isnt worth it when you consider the cost of a pair of kings springs ($120) the rear you can either get the leafs reset, Ryan's group buy has bargain prices for these or you can simply flip the top leaf without making the ride to "bouncy" Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 265mm free height will get you just about sitting on legal height. And get a pair of leaves thru the group buy, those prices are probably a once off too :) If you don't wanna buy lowered springs you can have the chops out of the front of my 30. they sit EXACTLY on legal height and handled the twisties rather well. I hope you don't mean cut springs.......... As has been said before ^^, cut springs are a very bad idea. (Potentially lethal) Quote
camcam Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 i miss seeing this car  u no at my house and shit lol oh well :) got a slider any way lmao Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 If the Chops are held captive i can't see why they any more dangerous then say King springs with inserts that don't hold them captive Quote

(Potentially lethal) YEp, cut springs  Previous owner did them. I have the 265mm ones sittign in the shed ready to go in when i get time. I havent really had a problem with them. But chopping springs is a good way to find the perfect ride height, then get the new ones the same size. Quote
