sammo[RL] Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 (edited) I've been trying to price a set of wheel cylinders for a ke55, with prices ranging from $30 a set to $79 a set! But today the Autobarn guy told me that there are two different size wheel cylinders available for a 55. One 19 mm and the other 20mm. Is this true,? Would it matter which one i put in? And if there is only one size, does anyone know a part number for them? Cheers Edited June 13, 2008 by sammo Quote
Clapped out Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 (edited) I always thought that the ke3x and ke5x ran all the one type of wheel cylinders, even with the jap diff and the borgy. When you say 19mm/20mm, you mean the piston diametre? 1mm shouldn't make a difference should it? The pistons only push on the brake shoe's, in my opinion i wouldn't think that it would make a difference, just my 2 cents, cheers phatke30! Edited June 16, 2008 by phatke30 Quote
philbey Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Yes it will make a difference to your brake bias, you might notice your rears lock easier. Might only be one millimetre, but its the area of the piston that's the issue. Quote
Clapped out Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 ^^^^^^^True, i never looked at it in that aspect, if that were to be the case maybe brake adjustment could compensate? @ sammo, best way would be to measure the piston and go from there, then you would be able to order the correct parts, cheers phatke30!
