Suicide Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Will a Ca18 motor bolt straight into a Ke70 and what other mods will i have to do to my car for a Ca18 to run
Medicine_Man Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) Engine mounts are different for starters.. you exhaust will have to be modified, fuel system / fuel pump / surge tank, cooling system, driveline / gearbox (definatly going to want to replace the stock diff), and rewire your ecu to suit. Just a few ideas, I'm sure I've missed a lot of stuff, but anyone else can feel free to add to these ideas.. Not a simple "bolt in" really.. On that note, you might also want to do some google searches on "CA18 into AE86" as the engine bay and chassi are fairly similar.. Edited January 23, 2005 by Medicine_Man
irokin Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 cars toyota..... engines nissan... that should explain alot....
Medicine_Man Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Heres A Thread On CA18DET into KE55
Suicide Posted January 23, 2005 Author Report Posted January 23, 2005 What is the best engine turbo engine to put in a ke70 with the least amount of work
Redwarf Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Heathens the lot of you. If it's a Toyota, you put a Toyota engine in it. If it's a Nissan, you put a Nissan engine in it. Thou shalt not mix between the two. Here endth the lesson. :)
Medicine_Man Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 What is the best engine turbo engine to put in a ke70 with the least amount of work Another problem I forgot to mention was the fact KE70s have a cable clutch, most other motors will require a hydraulic clutch, so you will have to modify that too..
Teddy Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 just put a 4age, get a pod filter, 2.5" zorst, and be done with the task... mid 15 second sounds fine to me :)
Xany Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 then whack a snail on the side if it floats your boat that much.
Redwarf Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) Don't forget about the rest of the car that you will have to upgrade to keep everything going. eg: diff, brakes.... Plus you have to keep the engineer happy. What state are you in? Edited January 23, 2005 by Redwarf
Medicine_Man Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 I think a state of shock once he realises how much work is actually involved..
Super Jamie Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 What is the best engine turbo engine to put in a ke70 with the least amount of work just walk into a performance shop with 15 grand and pay them to do it
Teddy Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) lets say you get a half cutt to save bothering around ~ $2000 then theres the T50 RWD gearbox + Repairs if neded ~ $250 / W Series + custom bellhousing $ 500/600 (+mucking around) then theres the Tail shaft + Diff ~ T18 = $200 to $250 / Custom = $800 + Lets not forget wheels + Rubber = $ 700ish Proper Brake + suspension upgrade ~ $1500 to 2000 easy Electrical + Getting it all done professionally = $700 Ae71 Parts to get 4age into Ke70 ~ $200 Then theres the fabrication's here and there which will suck even more money, then you have to expect the unexpected $$$$$ Total time !! (for the more expensive, muchhh stronger method) $2000+600+800+700+2000+700+200+labout+unexpected costs =$7000 = ahahah, that doesnt include body work, rust work, interiour work... Lets add $2000 for a paint job, $500 for inteiour stuff, $500 for body and rust works (no Ke70 has no rust...its there, u just need to find it) and you have a ball park figure of $10,000 ~ give or take alot depending on what u get cheap, expensive, what u do, mates rates....... etc etc etc. But thats only my thinking... jason and i are doing a 4agze into Ae71 with a $7000 budget, and we are going pretty ok atm... but its getting Re-co'd T18 diff, T50 gearbox insted of something like a W58 and custom hilux diff setup... Lets not forget onroad costs + legalities !! Good luck.. * :) Edited January 23, 2005 by Redwarf
