never Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Don't know if this is going to be relevant here so I will post it and you can all let me know. On the weekend I rejetted my carbs on my motorbike and they needed to be sync'ed afterwards. Thanks to the magic of the internet I was able to find a site that told me how to make a homemade manometer (to my surprise it doesn't measure manliness) that measures the vacuum between each carb. Was a bit fiddly but once you got the hang of it really easy. Also saved buying a carb sync tool. All up cost $5 to rig the thing up. Anyway I thought i would post up the link used in case anyone here running twin carbs on their cars would need to do the same thing. http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do_I_sync...Carb_sync_tools I used the two bottle method. Make sure you use bottles made from glass as plastic ones just collapse under the pressure hope thats useful Quote
freakmotor Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Thanks heaps, this is very useful. I'll be making one and trying it out on my Dellortos. Quote
philbey Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Cool, I was going to make one myself as well. Its basic principles really. But, a mate at work has a Carbmate. Incidentally, it wouldnt be too hard to make your own with a 5 Volt pressure transducer or two and a multimeter. Quote
beerhead Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Looks like a cheap and easy way to get the job done. I was thinking about using a hot wire AFM connected to a multimeter. But with shut throttles I guess the MAP sensor would do a better job. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Nice article, Thanks for posting the link for us.. Quote
