Hey all

Just wondering if there is more then one type of KE30 wiring loom?

just asking because i have had to replace the one that was in my car as it was cut for a 4AGE.

Ive got a standard now and am in the mits of putting it in.

I searched and read for while, and am wondering what is the difference in the internal and external alternators? and is the loom the same?

Also my car has been fitted with a KE55 dash, will this cause problems?

Any info will be great, will keep searching, but more help the better

Regards

Yep early ke30 (pre 77) will be different from late 30 and 55 looms. Later ones had, as you say internal regs, and things like brake waring lites and intermediate wipers.

actually, from what i have compared, there is no difference in the looms from the 30 to 55. i used the KE30 main loom that runs into enginebay, and the dash has its own loom. which seems the same. think the 30 one had one less plug, did the 55's ahve a rear demister on rear windscreen? if so then thats what the plug for i guess

I have a KE35 and have 6 (I think) different wiring diagrams in my Haynes Corolla 1200 manual, and my KE35 doesn't seam to match any of those diagrams, so I say there is more then 7. The diagrams are also for ?? to '78 and cover 3(??) variants of the 3K engine.

Haynes bought out Gregory's so they are effectively the same manual. I think mine was different 'cause it was the last version ('78) and it was only very minor differences.
