Maybe if you have the part number for the thermistor you could track down its specs, so then you know the temp/resistance values. Either that or test the one you have by soldering leads on it, heatshrinking and boiling in a pan of water on a stove with a multimeter and thermometer, while graphing the results.

 

You could even do the same with the 4age temp sensors you have if you can't locate the specs for them.

Why don't you just use the thermo switch out of an AE82/AE92 external thermostat housing? much easier to work with and works ten times better than anything aftermarket..

 

Those 2 on the back of the 4AGE control the engine temp for the ECU and the cold start injector... (work on resistance) Would be easier to use a switch to switch a relay..

I would have drilled out an old one and put in the new using j-b weld. http://jbweld.net/index.php

It`s not conductive and takes 600 deg F. Realy good multi purpose stuff.

 

This to make sure you have the right caracteristics of the thermistor.

Tridon sell aftermarket thermo switches that you can just hook up to a relay. I do have thermo fan function on my Haltech but I'm using a thermo switch. Simple is best (in something as critical as this anyway).

Here is the wiring diagram for Toyota Thermo Fan Relay and Thermo Switch to power Thermo Fan..

 

The idea is if the Switch is Faulty or disconnected, Or the Relay faults the fan(s) will come on..

 

(Rough, But you should get the idea)...

No problem, Also note that the body of the thermo switch has to be common with frame/ground..

 

Should be able to find that relay in your donor AE82 relay box..

Yes. The ones for k-series have a diode conected internally accros the relay coil. don't know about a- series
