cuzzo Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Why didnt you just drill the lock out on the fuel filler? Also it needs lowering :jamie: Quote
JiP Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Yeah, sounds the same. Luckily I don't drove the wags. I do wonder how I will get it off to get fuel in when I need to. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 i tried drilling the lock out yeah, but i snapped 2 drill bits in there.. And yes it does need lowering in the arse, Quote

NickZ Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Shame you had to killed the fuel cap, not sure what happend, but i never ever locked it, and the drivers door lock key did work it. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Report Posted August 24, 2008 yeah was weird, i know it did open when i first got it... but i tried everything.. it wouldnt budge.. don't matter, ive sourced a new one :no2: Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) well, Got new electric pump in, all works now. Tried starting car yesty, all it would do would just crank.. no spark, then it started raining so i gave up. Today i cleaned the plugs, checked leads ect. first crank she started, got to drive it around the yard YAY... 3 probs though 1. Oil leak from the blocking plate i made to cover the hole where the old mechanical pump was...Easy fixed, i made up some new gaskets, and used gasket goop aswell. added extra washer to make sure nut was pressing plate hard enough. 2. Seems my Throw Out bearing int he Box is shot, there is no Whine when out of gear and clutch pedal out, put as soon as i tap the clutch pedal it whines.. Bearing fer sure?? 3. Think i may have JUST blown a headgasket.. there was a real small amount of milky stuff under oil cap. BUT, ive also heard the water in radiator goes throfy (spelling)... True? Apart from that its great, steering is light.... then again I'm Driving a L200 ute as a daily hahah... and boy is the rolla stiff.. :P Edited September 2, 2008 by Falken_KE30 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 2, sure sounds like it. If you're taking the box off, maybe get a new TOB as well as a pilot/spiggot bearing (the one in the end of the crank). 3, I would woirry too much just yet, did you find the condensation after you had it running? Might have just been some moisture in the motor from sitting and you just boiled it out!!!!! :jamie: Clean out the mayo, and just keep an eye on it for the next week. Worse case scenario we can get a new HG in for less than $100!!! :P Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 thanks Si, Was going to replace TOB anyway, will buy a Spigot bearing too, will get both out and take with me when i buy them.. Yeah it was after running car for bout 10 mins... ill keep an eye on it. i reckon it was moisture, car has been outside last week in the rain.. she back in shed now so all good. Just gotta find a default sorta setting for the carby and get it running better Quote
skd30 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Nice car you got there, ive got a ke30 2 door of my own sittin in the shed. fully stripped right now working my donkey off gettin it built up. Falken_KE30 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 Have ordered a Throw out Bearing, and a spigot bearing.. also got a 1 piece inlet/outlet gasket on order too.. They should be here friday, but i can't pick em up till saturday.. so I'm hoping sunday ill have motor back in and running.. YAY.. Quote

Falken_KE30 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 Yeah i realise that now... owell... Got me one piece inlet/exhaust gasket.. have to pick up the bearings tommorow. Also, have got my electric pump, and it works.. but for now i just had the power wire going to the fusebox for when the key is turned to the "on" part. Is there anywire in the boot that i can tap into to get power from? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Nope, you'll just have to run one wire. Run it off a relay from the battery though, otherwise you blow the fuse were you've patched it in. :) Quote
