Are you sure you're tappet cover is adequately venting? Do you have some sort of catch can on it?

If you're looking at an oil cooler maybe wouldn't hurt to put an oil temp guage on it first to see what sort of temps you're actually getting to! I just finally got mine hooked up a couple of weeks ago. Haven't given it a good 'hills run' yet but haven't seen over 80° yet which is the normal water temp. I put a couple of pics up in my thread as the last update.

Also just a thought...maybe as well as starting you're own thread for the truck you could also register a new username for yourself! At least then you wouldn't need to sign off every post as (Thomas's dad). ;)

Hi there Si ! yeah we are running a oil catch can  and i'll check your thread out and have a look at your set up :y: and what external oil cooler kit did you use ?. Thomas is going to set me up with my own build thread ! not for the truck as it is not a corolla but for PROJECT 25 which is another major project i'm doing for myself KE25 or what will be left of it HAHA as this one is not for the traditionalist :rocknroll: once I've got enough done we will start its own build thread and then i wont have to keep signing of on Thomas ( That will be great )

I just got one of the sandwich plates that goes under the oil filler from Bursons. Cooler I got off Ebay. Couple of speedflow fitting and some braided hose. I have a speco oil temp guage which was only about $30, just need to put the sensor in the sump.

Amazing build Stuart and Thomas!!! Twice over too, WOW!! it's very very nice, lovin the bike carbies never seen that setup on a 4k before :)

Awesome HP figure too, what are the list of mods of the engine?

Did you find out the cause of the fire in the end? anything we should all be weary of when doing custom builds?

Hi Paul ! Thank you for your kind words :y: and yes building it once was OK but twice was a bit disheartening although it did mean we could bring it back even better than the first build  . As for the cause of the fire ? not real sure but recon it may have flooded up and back fired through the carbies ( Bloody stinking hot day ) and as for any tips we ran a bypass fuel pressure regulator and a return line back to the tank . Another thing with the quad carbies is the breather hose must not hang down were it can cause a vacuum as it is like driving with the choke on and i'm pretty sure Thomas has listed all the engine mods back in the thread ( There were lots of them ) .

Hi there ! just wondering if any of you are going to the Picnic At Hanging Rock car show this Sunday ? as Thomas and myself are planing on coming down and hop fully catching up with some of you Guys and Girls and check out your rides so we hope to see you there . Does any one know if there is a organized Toyota group going and where they are meeting and what time ?

Cheers:- Stuart

TCCAV will be at Hanging Rock again. Usual place on the oval if the officials let it all happen.

They are leaving the BP at Calder at 7am, not sure what time that gets them to Hanging Rock - 8am maybe?

Best way to keep track is to follow them on facebook - www.facebook.com/tccav

Well with Picnic At Hanging Rock cancelled :n: and I've just found out the the trailer to the race boat that i was meant to be taking to the Southern 80 is not registered  it looks like a good weekend to try and get the WB ute that i'm painting for a mate done so i can get it out of the shed  and then i can get stuck into PROJECT 25  and get my own thread happening :rolla: i'll keep you all updated .

Hi, fantastic build(s!) on this little gem, beautiful work. Grats on COTY, well deserved.

Just a thought on the rocker cover gasket issue; when the engine was run-in without valve stem seals, the oil present in the cylinder may have caused the rings to bed poorly, or patches of the cylinder walls to have glazed. Could be getting a bit of blow-by, causing a fairly strong positive crank case pressure.

Checking the compression should give a good indication if any are letting the side down.

Hi there everyone we haven't posted for a while ! Hope you all had a great Xmas and are having a great start to the new year . I've just got Thomas little Rolla back on the road after 3 weeks trying to find new front & rear shocks as the Pedders comfort gas had all let go and needed replacing ( Pedders no longer make for Ke10/11 ) so once again I called our good mate Stu ( Kickn5k) for help ! who put us on to an old thread by Felix ( thanks heaps mate ) so we ended up using the Ke30 part numbers from the Monroe shocker range 1970-75 Front- Monroe GT Gas p/t No 25-3810 with the 25mm spacer and Monroe Original on the rear p/t No 14-0304 which are the same as the Pedders that we removed . The only problem we have is we have to get the tops of the front struts machined in the lathe to fit our coil over tops & camber/caster tops to fit but it has all come together and is handling better than it ever has so once again thanks Stu and also a big thanks to Felix on a great thread on the Ke10/11 suspension it defiantly made the job a lot easier . Cheers:- Stuart.

Hi there everyone ! We hope you all have had a great Easter break and a safe one  from Thomas & myself . Well anyway as I've said many times before ! PROJECT CARS ARE THAY EVER REALLY FINISHED ? well it appears NOT :no2: as I've just finished replacing the 3rd K50 gearbox :bash: in Thomas little Rolla ! we have decided it is time to start VERSION No 3-4 or is it 5 ? LOL (not me :lolcry: ) lost count . So I have stripped down our donor shell ready to go on the rotisserie for the start of all the modifications needed . Bigger tunnel for W50 gearbox / rear end modifications for a bigger diff :) that hopefully should take care of the drive line .Now as I will be keeping the original body as a complete rolling spare I will be chasing a few KE11 panels if anyone can help out as we need a Boot lid - Front Valance / Stone guard and possibly a bonnet if so you can ring me ( Stuart ) on Mob 0428 574248 or home phone AH 03 50376 708 it would be much appreciated . As Justin the owner of PEACHES has set the bar VERRRYYYY high with his little Rolla making STREAT MACHINE :2thumbs: great stuff and well done ( Congrats again Justin ) . As I don't have to rush this one there will be quite a few body mods as we will be looking to make it a top end SHOW CAR and yes it will be ORANGE ;) . I will get Thomas to put up pics as we go as we know you all love pics  . Now as I have both W50 gearboxes Steel case / aluminium case we will also be looking for a K to W bell housing if anyone can help out ? Cheers :- Stuart  BLOODY PROJECT CARS :P HAHAHA LOL hear I go AGAIN.

Hey guys, I've got a k-w bell with fork etc and a 200mm flywheel machined ready to go that I might be willing to let go for the right price. Fw is full weight though so freight might bit be that cheap.
