a car thats 500 grams lighter but doesnt go anywhere :cool:

 

some guy with a civic got lightened wheel nuts specially made, lol to save a few grams

would have cost a shiteload haha

well this is only a thing a group of mates in the country do is try to build the fastest racecar under 1.6l then do time trials so basicaly its anything goes except from the out side it has to look like a car so all panels lights grille that kinda thing

There was a susuki i think motor bike 750cc if i remem right that had every bolt drilled out from factory to save 10kgs i think... so all the bolts were like a banjo bolt!

 

just bust out the pistol drill and do that , and add some speed holes while your at it! :POSTPICS!:

Do what I have seen on many Mini's. Take a drill to it and make it swiss cheese. Just be very careful when opening doors . . . there very very flexible. Latest one I came across was picked up by two people :POSTPICS!:

wheels

aluminum dash

fiberglass/aluminum race seat

chrome molly cage (some make it of mild steel)

fuel cell

small dry cell battery (the lite kind?)

remove anything that isnt nessesary excess wiring emissions etc.

lexen rear window

thanks for all the responses I'm planning on going ultra light with lexen rear and side windows, no rear or passenger seat, rid the car of sound deadening carpet most of the dash and all the other bits that don't need to be on a rally car

don't drill holes in the chassis rails.

 

work out where you REALLY save weight in kilos, and go do that first rather than spend ages taking grams out.
