[email protected] Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 well some of use might have heard this all to meny times befor but i havent. i want more compression out of me 3k but want the reliability of the 4k head. i keep getting told that it would fly apart but some others use theres every day an it halls with all the stock bottem end bits. what would be betta a dished 4k or a plattop 4k piston head. i have 2 to use. Raven Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 cc the chambers and find out which has less capacity and go from there  Quote
[email protected] Posted April 26, 2008 Author Report Posted April 26, 2008 ok. in your own opinion do you think it would hold together for a while. if anyone hase done this befor pleas let me know it would be a big help. Quote
Redwarf Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 This topic has been flogged to death more than once. You'll find that if you use the search function above, and do a bit of research, you may not have to ask as many questions. Quote
WinKE55 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Why not get the 3k head shaved? Or the engine block decked? That is one way to increase compression. I would use flat top pistons, as I think the dished pistons dish INTO the piston. So you would be then decreasing compression.. Though if you want a supercharger or turbocharger on your engine. It would be good to have a bit of a low compression so you can force more into your chamber. Quote
[email protected] Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 i am using FTP but a 4k that uses dished pistons has a flat face head,i wont need to face the head and its just a beta built and newer head, i just though som1 would have done this and could tell me out right as iv found nothing on the topick. thanks shane'0.
