rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 what other seats can i bolt into my ke70? i mean, some lower bucket seats. any from other toyota's that are a direct bolt in? Quote
demuire Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Hardly any seats are a direct bolt in. Hell, even seats from my KE55 won't bolt into my KE35, and both cars look virtually identical... Quote
rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 well, what fits in there with minor modification? sureley toyota werent THAT fussy designing a new mounting for every single model of car they made. Quote
rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 are the csx ones lower and hold ur arse / body / hips in better? i have awesome seat covers already, so appearance means shit all to me. i keep falling out of my seat, and hitting my head on the roof :P Quote
rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 sure thing, and buying new seats, AND getting some1 to f@$k with them is going to be cheaper than some average seats from the wreckers, and a lil weld here and there? hmms :) might just put some bricks on the seats for a month, and let them sink some shape into them instead.... :P Quote
Jason Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 (edited) Hahah bad luck, the spirit has got 'sports trim' and the seats are like mini bucket seats I'm 5' 11" and still got plenty of room.... just have it reclined a bit lol have to fix passenger one, there support meshy things broken, you sink right it :P Edited January 11, 2005 by Jason Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I find my KE70 seats quite comfortable, my uncle even has a set in his lounge that he made frames up for, he he he, you feel so at home when you sit in them.. Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 some seats that will fit with rail mods include aw11 mr2 s13 silvia (about the only thing they're good for) impreza wrx it's hard to find skinny seats that will go in a corolla comfortably. well it is when you have a ke25 anyway :P Quote
demuire Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Like Nick said, modifying seat rails requires blue plating. You can get away with getting some 3mm steel and using grade 8.8 high tensile bolts and making an adaptor plate, some engineers recon this doesn't even need blue plating, but it will make your seats even higher. Most stock everyday car seats aren't made low, or with good padding, really. And once you start looking at making adaptor plates etc you can pretty much get any other seat that's sort of the same size. I had Honda Civic seats in my KE55, and they were quite nice :P Quote
demuire Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 My original KE55 drivers seat has been made into an office chair :P Quote
rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 i'm a tall, skinny bloke, and i drive with my seat as far backj as it goes, and 1 notch past standard incline. - its too high, and its weird :P Quote
rwdrolla Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 sweet! i''m SOOOOO doing that with an old style bucket seat..... might need to re-inforce the gas lifter tho :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 most of us are pretty short :P Quote
demuire Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I'm short, makes the rest of me look big :P Quote
