Hey all,

I'm planning to do a fluid change for the diff and gearbox on my rolla... i don't quite have a manual yet, so i was wondering if anyone know if its a straight forward procedue?

Do i dump the gearbox oil, where do i fill it back up from? and do i fill it just until the level is at the filler hole? and the diff? where do i dump and fill the oil from, and where do i fill it too?

Any recommendations on appropriate oils or thoughts at all? its only got just on 80,000kms on it so for me its just maintaining these parts, don't particularly need performance because it's all stock

thanks fellas

Dump the diff oil and fill it up till a little bit comes out of the filler hole.

Obviously there are two holes yes? sorry ive never replaced the oil in a diff before, never had a rwd car. Should i dump the oil hot or cold?

2 plugs.

One on the bottom on the diff and one on the rear plate to fill it up. Hot is better but don't burn yourself and getting the diff oil hot or warm will take some driving.

and make sure you always crack the top one first just incase some reason you can't get the bottom one undone

Do u mean make sure u can undo the plug to fill it. because if you dump the oil then find out u can't open the filler your going to have a hard time filling it back up :hmm:
